After reconvening from executive session, members of the Pike County board of commissioners voted not to renew the county manager's contract and to advertise for the position if it becomes vacant.

At least two armed deputy sheriffs and a county attorney didn't toss him off county property. Marro's job application stated this was the position he had prepared for all his life. We are behind you Mr. Marro all the way to the state line.

What is the world coming to when you can not interview for another job without fear of losing the one you have? The attitude of the BOC is outrageous.

I would like to help Mr. Marro. We are considering a "Fill the Boot" at Zebulon's square. Please can goods, bus tickets, lip gloss only. The last time the poorman cried was when Dawn Danielson resigned for the fourth time.

Please no cash, he still has $30,000 in a brown paper sack.

Yeah your right. My old lady just talked to Marro and Fry in the Delta Crown Room and was fired from her Clayton county executive job. We lost our free rent house, free power, free gas and free water. Marro hired her and that went sour. Maybe we can move to Florida with him.

Marro's photo posted is the same picture posted in Flager and Volusia county Post Offices. Pity the poor guy, he should have stayed in school in New York City. Marro could have been the best Forklift Operator in the Big Apple.

Which one of you posters want the job? I 've got it, none of you. We know Marros faults and we have a known factor in place. He leaves and we are at ground zero again, with it taking another two years for the next person to get a full handle on the problems of Pike just as it has in the past when other CM's are fired or or leave. How many CM's in the last ten years? 7 or 8 and two of them were in place over 5 years of that if I remember correctly (Marro and Burnsed) GOOD LUCK

Please make your comments known to the people of DeBary Florida. Positive or negative, they need to know in advance. Pity Don Collins did not deliver this information to our county government in advance. They call us Cave People. Do something good for a change;

I hope he gets it or not? Pike County population 16,500. One pike county firehouse. Not all firehouse. Only three are paid. Not all firefighters. ISO from a 2 to a 1. No class, No equipment. No new fire station. Yes training. What about fire hydrant?

Lamar County population 18,600. Lamar County is moving up near Pike County line. Firefighters are on duty 24 hours and 7 day every day. With all the firehouse, but yes. ISO from a 6 to a 4. New ISO Class 6. New class, new engine, new ladder truck, new fire station and equipment.

I have watched this county go through County Manager's over and over. What a joke it has become. If we just continue to change every year or two there will never be stability within our County government. In my opinion he was getting the job done I don't care if you like him personally or not.

In my former nicotine stained hands I'm holding a copy of our county managers resume. It was not done by Nancy or Sean, it is too professional. This resume is that of a GOD. This man can walk on water, leap tall buildings and stop a freight train. This resume tells everyone he has held every director position in our county government except the dump station. His #1 reference is Mayor Steve Fry, he is another that thinks he is a GOD and can walk on water also. Pure ARROGANCE.

for the ignorant, it means we will be back where we started and it was a term used long before New Yorks ground zero came about. I'm not saying you are ignorant, maybe just not a Marro fan. Forget the personalities and think about the job getting done and all the issues that will fall through the cracks if we start over with someone new. This happens every time and Pike takes a big step backwards for a year or so.

Mr. Marro has made changes within himself to serve Pike better. Now once he has learned the right way everyone wants to run him off. We have made an investment through schools and educating Mr. Marro, now we are running him off to another county. Remember we ran a perfect chairman of the BOC off, Mr. Steve Fry and we got stuck with a real loser Doug Mangham. Let's keep Mr. Marro at all costs.

Don't forget my famous chili @ WMC tonight, Mr Fry will be there.

JC, that is just plain BS. Steve Fry sucked as a as public servant. We as PC voters got Doug under false pretenses. Fry and Marro together brought the chief and we are screwed there as well. Are you worried that when Marro goes they will get rid of your boy Danny? Just a reminder, before your have someone’s back make sure you see through the BS first. You can and will get some on you.

The key words in this story are "advertise for the position IF it becomes vacant". The BOC is just not renewing the contract; the man may end up staying for less money if he doesn't get that job in FLA.

I heard BOC and Pike County Board of Commissioners. Voted 4-0. New buiness, Mid Georgia Ambulance, Cell towers, Golf, Fire fees, Budget 2010 and New county map. No fulltime paid firefighter. Mid Georgia Ambulance with all the firehouse manned 24 hours and 7 days.

Not to worry JC, Marro would stay for $1.00 per year to keep all his deals going. No matter where the crook goes he will lie and do under the table deals. We citizens are the ones left to pay for his lies and deals. Dawn Danielson, Joe Murphy, Danny Henderson, Rudy Vaughn did not just happen to drop from the sky into our county, DEALS !

Another rib party for Marro. The county employees just had a rib party last month and now one is being planned for Marro. Marro introduced Dawn Danielson at her first rib party, she promply ask McLeroy for 8 heavy plates to go for her midget and kids. How many plates will Marro ask for this time? How many executives from ClayCo will attend?

Why do we need a Executive Director County Manager? We have in place a County Clerk and Sean Townsend Budget Director. Former County Clerk Ann Sawyer ran the whole county and did a excellent job.

Are you kidding? Is he really staying? Maybe we should have encouraged the people in FL to hire him. The problem is not about getting rid of too many county managers. The problem is about the ones we hire. Hire a good one, hold him accountable and keep him. And just because he is county manager doesn't mean he gets the keys to the county. He's a MANAGER, not an OWNER. He is still a county employee.
