If my child stays in bed from now on, will they be safe? I'm so worried that my child may be exposed to the elements if they go outside in cold weather. I'm a typical dead head parent and I worry about everything no matter how ridiculous it may be.
I think the school staff just wanted a 3 day weekend. They didn't think the holiday break was long enough and wanted an excuse to be out another day.

Come on you know without and facts to base their rhetoric on anything without a doubt it is the Fire Chiefs fault that they had to close the schools. LOL
I bet all of you who are complaining about school being canceled would be the first to sue if there were a bus accident because of the weather. When I drove to work this morning, I did see patches of ice. I am glad that the safety of my child is important enough to cancel school.
I hated to miss work today because of the snow but I agree with #7. The safety of my children is worth alot more than 8 hrs of my paycheck! I also enjoyed the extra time with them.
Even if school had not been cancelled I would not have sent my children to school on an icy road. This is nothing to be joking about but I have come to expect nothing better for some people.
I hate that school is always out...but i would rather my child as well as younger sibling be safe. I am not sure about the other bus drivers but ours has a hard enough time driving in immaculent comditions... :)
We live on a very shady road that was not passable in some sections. I couldn't get out and neither could my children. You guys just want something to complain about. If school wasn't canceled, you'd be on here in a heartbeat saying the schools don't care about your kids.
Again...the safety of my children is more important than a few extra $ on my electric bill. Maybe you dont, but most of us parents do care about our kids. Sounds like you would rather put your kids life in jepordy than to loose a little money or maybe you dont have kids which means you should'nt even have a comment.
I see your point but I would still wrather have my kids at home, not at school when the weather is bad. Employers should compensate their employees for the days missed because of weather.
The school system is responsible for hundreds of children. They made a call that was in the best interests of all the families, not just yours. You are not the center of the universe.
Bitter..party of one? I agree but I am not speaking for everbody and their children only mine. I think the school made a good call and yes it was in the best interest of all the kids. Some people just make it seem like the value of the dollar is worth more than the safety of their children.
WTF are you talking about? Can I afford to have my child in accident....I dont understand what that means. Where did you get that I want the school to raise my kids? Did I miss something?
Not bitter at all. Just pointing out that people have a tendancy to operate on a self-serving level. The post I was responding to made the assumption that the school was unaware that people have to take time off to stay home with their children...and that the people who support the school systems decision must be able to affort it. Both assumptions are flawed.
Crawl under whatever you can find that is not on earth.
Smoke a joint....find your cloud.
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was is.
I almost did not make it. As I crawled through that millimeter of snow.....I was mighty fearful.
