The Board of Equalization is in place to assure the citizens that they will receive a fair property assessment.
This works well for the citizens in counties where the tax assessor does not treat citizens fairly. The powers that be in their infinate wisdom decided that there needed to be a check and balance system in place to make sure that everyone got treated equally.
The job of the Board is difficult, and they approach it with open minds. They listen to all parties and then make a decision based on all of the facts.
We should certainly applaud this board for their hard work.
The story did not spell out the hanger does not have heat and air, only a shop portion on the side. But the Board of Equalizaton did well. Our chief tax assesor plays favorites and it took Rounds hiring a lawyer to get her attention. Heard she wanted to make a deal before it went before the Board of Equalization but he said no, he wanted it to become public. Hope he files for a refund on previous taxes (up to three years allowed) and his legal fees. Evidently the previous Board of Tax Assessors let cheif assessor Jeannie Haddock run wild. The Board of Equalization is appointed by the Grand Jury.
I logged onto the Pollcat everyday until they started doing all the IP ID#'s on everyone. Delete, delete and delete. Then to top it off the 2 bragged about all the posters they had a ID on. That is low class and sorry to people that read their crap everyday. I no longer waste my time with those two!
