A Pike County grand jury indicted two local women Monday on unrelated murder and sex charges.

The Pike County Board of Commissioners,Executive Director County Manager, Board of Education, Chamber of Commerce Executives and members of the IDA are exempt from charges. The Grand Jury nor the you peoples have jurisdiction over such a elite group of peoples. Ask the Executive Judge County Attorney.

There are other people that got indicted. Why is this the only story on this matter. We would love to hear about the other sickos that our sheriffs dept has got off the streets. Like all the child molesters and drug dealers.

Good grief, of course they were indicted. Doesn't take much at all to get someone indicted, you or your attorney are not allowed to be there to defend yourself, it is just the prosecutor stating what they wish, to a jury, for the jury to decide if they think it merits being presented for a trial. Simply a step in the legal process, should have been expected, but of course the news media has to sensationalize it, like it's some big shock that they were actually indicted.

A Grand Jury always seems to work just as Jeb described.

This statement, "you or your attorney are not allowed to be there to defend yourself", brings several questions to mind.

* Is a person, along with a lawyer, allowed to appear in their own defense at a Grand Jury proceeding?

* If it is allowed, why don't defense lawyers appear at a Grand Jury proceedure?. Surely some cases could be settled in a Grand Jury.

* How are members of the Grand Jury selected?

* Are the names of Grand Jury members a matter of public record?

* Are Grand Jury proceedures open to the public?

Unless you are an active law enforcement officer, you or your representative do not have a right to be present nor testify during indictment proceedings against you.

And yes, it is very easy to have someone indicted. Doesn't mean a thing as to the persons guilt or innocence, just that the prosecutors have shown a jury that they have something to show for to bring a case forward.

Its not a sheriff....its a sheriffs deputy. He was with Pike...not anymore. Now with another agency.........very close by!!!

to #18 Clearly you never knew her. She is the farthest from "evil" that i know.... nice to a fault maybe but DEFINATELY NOT "evil". People tend to believe what they read in black and white or hear from their "christian" neighbor's to be the gospel truth. The fact is that there's usually more than one side to every story. if your sooo worried about her being "evil" call her up, ask her to meet you, look her in the face, listen to her, talk to her lawyers, people she was close to.... see for yourself if u feel she needs to be jailed, be missed by her kids for Christmas, high school graduations, collage, marriage, and possibly grandchildren. Her whole family is being punished-esp. her kids. Is it worth your tax dollars to jail someone like Mindi just to satisfy your own insecurities or...u could spend time figuring out ways to know the difference between criminals that are a continuous, repeated threat and may deserve your "evil" term.

I dont know her #18 but I know the PCSD could care less about real truth.Trying to manipulate the law in whatever way necessary to get a conviction.Guilty or not its what the accused can afford to pay for in defense. If you have money you can beat these simple minded keystone cops everytime, Problems is good attorneys cost allot of money, more than most have.If you cant beat them with a good attorney your probably guilty anyways and need to go to jail.
Her being "Evil" I dought it. At worst probably very stupid,If she did do it.
Georgia sex laws have moved toward insanity these days so keystones look tough on sex crimes in reality these are the easiest crimes to get convictions on because everyone including myself likes to put a pedophile in jail.
Isnt it funny that keystones charge a juvinille as an adult at 15 saying he knew right from wrong and in a different case saying a 15 year old is a victim because he wanting had sex with a women thats ten years older that he was attracted to because he didnt know any better and even if he did sorry still against the law.
Oh and so much for a new jail DOWN WITH SPLOST
And for those that vote republican Thank Sonny Perdue for that property tax bill increase your gonna have to pay from now on.I cant Believe a Republican raise taxes....They love money too

Any woman that has it in her to continually ruin marriages and families is evil. She has everyone fooled. I dont know why everyone even tries to fight the issue anyway. She'll walk away and not serve a minutes time. All I can say is watch out.

Forget how she looks and look at her with the "right" perspective.(or anyone you feel needs ur judgement) There are several stories in the bible about judgement, forgiveness,praying for your enemies, but the one that sticks out to me is when the harlot was dragged into the street to be stoned and Jesus wrote in the sand then turned to the crowd and said "those who are with out sin cast the first stone". to 23....I was responding to 21! I dont need a Bible lesson. All I am saying is that I DO NOT like what Mindi has done to people. There are so many out there who blow it off. I know that the ultimate judgement of Mindi's sins lies in Gods hands. However...I am human and I have no sympathy for what she has done. Sorry...its just the way I feel. Yes I have a Bible and I read it every day. I just think that our world is sick. Just because she is good looking, people think its ok for her to sleep with ANYONE. to #24 I check this blog cause i know her well and her family. Why do u? I believe U need to read a little deeper. There are definately people out in the world we need protection from- who's intentions are to repeatedly hurt others. Mindi is NOT one of them. And again, clearly, you don't know her or the real circumstances of her case. But when it does all come out many will be shaking their heads and some real perspective will be understood by all.
