Maj. David Neal has said the suspects' vehicle is a black Dodge Mangum with chrome rims and possibly a North Carolina plate. That vehicle could be occupied by two male suspects.

Burglars are targeting homes in Pike and surrounding counties and local law enforcement agencies are warning citizens to be cautious.

is this not the same story that PCSO would not comment on last week. It ran on Fox, WSBTV and The Herald Gazette. Thanks PCSO for being on top of this revelant situation in our community and letting everyone know what is going on... even if the rest of north Georgia knew about it first.

why the patrol cars aren't dirty? They never patrol on dirt roads unless their lost.

They stay on HWY 19 SR-3 as they call it.. Look for yourself there ALWAYS on 19, back roads go lacking.. This is why crime is up, anybody can see it. You NEVER SEE a deputy do a walk through at any business but Mr. B's to get them something to eat or Drink. Watch them late at night, there always 2 of them sitting on the side of the road 19.

and heaven forbid you live on the edge of the county...like spalding or lamar, you see NO patrols.... you will never catch a patrol car on the side of 341 near supreme and ethridge mill rd area...

Sure traffic citations bring in money but voters do the elections. I want more patrols on the back roads. LETS SEE SOME DIRT ON THEM CARS!

Everybody knows where they sit and talk for HOURS. We see them all the time. They sit in other gas stations besides Mr. B's, too. Lots of time wasted there.

It's nice to see Thomas let Neal finally release good information, though still not as good as a real sheriff like the Hon. Larry Waller. You can't keep secrets in a little county like Pike. Oh, wait, the grapevine's been saying for a couple of days that one of the local police officers was threatened with arrest for wisely releasing this same info with all the other departments! Don't know which one it was, but the choice is between Zebulon or Molena PD. More stron garm tactics from a wannabe.

yes they do... I live by 2 businesses and they patrol though almost every night. Esp. on weekends....

A Pick County deputy released the info to someone and they placed it on FACEBOOK last week.....Even told the name of the office who did it but I can't remember now the names they listed. It was like 2 of them.

We definitely need more speeders on those back roads. Then I can drive faster on 19.

I see lots of Sheriff cars Traveling On New Hope Rd.I am new to this aarea.Iwas told itis a short cut. But it is also a race track. The county would be rich if the speeders were stopped.One person has been killed since I have been here.How many more willit take . Some have even bragged about speeding and not getting a ticket when stopped.Right on this comment entry.

WOW this county is CORRUPT. Just like back in 1989 when someone in Pike Co. was arrested for child molestation, but it took 2 years for anyone to investigate it. The GBI was suppose to be informed of this so they could investigate, but NO ONE in Pike told them about it. Even when they did investigate and this person had to appear in court, the person got off on probation. During the probation he molested 2 other children and was to be put in prison for 10 years, but the judge (not sure which one) got him off on this again. THEN, he molested more and they arrested him AGAIN, but on the day of his trial the judge let him go on $100,000 bail.
I'm not sure what happened next but it wasn't long before he was sent to Jackson prison and served 7 years.

And don't even let me get started with the corruption of special education in Pike schools. It's so bad it even resulted in the suicide of the school psychologist a couple of years ago.

i live on harden road right by east milner rd on the lamar county side and I see sheriff cars daily on my road..... and yes it is a dirt road.... No sure why they are on here so much..... maybe they have a girlfriend on this road....

I'm just wondering why in 2009 for Christ's sake we even have any dirt roads around !!! What the crap !!! I pay the same taxes as everyone else and can't even drive what I won't to when I won't because of the dirt road I live on. Yeah Yeah I know quit whining or move, If I could afford it I would move to a paved road. I'm just saying we should have to look hard to find a dirt road anywhere if at all in the year 2009. Just my two cents.

We called those dirt roads Lovers' Lane when I was young. Basically, Highway 19 was the only one paved. Well, Oliver Road was paved, but he was a commissioner. So you all leave Anonymous dirt road alone.

No we don't... I AM GLAD TO SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SEE THE SHERIFF DEPT SORRY AT WHAT THEY DO!!! We need a NEW sheriff plain and simply. Anyone ever notice the turn over rate at the PCSD? New people all the time.......... What is up with all that????

Let's not all forget about the 20- 24 lives that have been changed by these robberies. The families that no longer feel safe in their own homes and fear that these men will come back. We have to stand beside each other as a community. Teach your families how to protect themselves and come up with a plan in case these guys decide to break into someone elses home again " YOU may be home when they break in next time " It can happen and it did happen...Let's NOT let it happen again!

I live on the just south of the pike Spaulding county line. My house was broken into in early September. I do not know who did it. But took a civil war pistol my father gave me, and old laptop (Dummies) and my pregnant wife's nausea medication. We live on a dirt road and it took the police 5 min to get to our house from the time we called in the break in. My wife is scared out of her mind. Every noise that happens out side I have to go out and look around. Personally I hope they come back when I am home. I would like to introduce my self. I am buy crap for other people to take I would at least like to know who I am guy stuff for. Anyway. (Spat of anger over) The detective and the two officers that showed up where very nice, the dusted for finger prints and took photos. I don't know what people expect, CSI on tv is exactly that TV. takes a little longer then 1 hour to find out all these findings. With the GBI and the State making people take fur-lows it takes even longer. We are waiting and hope the authorities catch the guys who did this. Here is the answer to the question of why you don't see cops out in the country side. There are not many people out there. Yes since our burglary we have seen more cops patrolling the area, but where is most of the problems going to occur? Answer: Where the most people are. Out in the sticks is not where these types of problems normally happen. We have gotten regular updates as well from the detective working the case. Yes things have been different since this happened, and we are taking measures to make sure it does not happen again. So give the cops a break, they did a great job getting out there when we called and they have been nothing but supportive since. You might think they are dummies but I know one thing for shore, some one breaks into your house your going to be calling them too.

I know, I can't type when I get angry. I tried to make it right but they don't allow edits on this page. Befor any one ask what I as saying after introducing my self it is suppose to say "If I am going to buy crap for other people just to take it from me I would at least like to know who I am buying the stuff for." Just to clerify. To err is human, i am super human...
