The Pike County Lady Pirates varsity softball team finished the week of Sept. 6 with two more wins.
Tuesday they faced region rival Lamar County and came away with a hard fought 2-0 win. Jamie Daniels led the team with an impressive performance on the mound. Daniels struck out 10 Lady Trojan hitters and allowed only four base runners.
Offensively, Tori Bennett had two hits and drove in one run when she singled through the middle of the infield in the bottom of the third inning. Heather Mad-dox recorded the only other Lady Pirate RBI with a sacrifice fly in the same inning. Kyndal Deel and Brittany Ard each had one hit and scored the Lady Pirates two runs.
