This Friday night ushers in the Fall Classic as the Pike County Pirates travel to Columbus to take on Pacelli. Last year the Pirates handed Pacelli a 42-28 loss to start their roll of winning nine games straight.
Can the Pirates do it again in the 2009 season? Head coach John McMillan says they have a better team this year than the 9-1 2008 team.
“If the region didn’t improve we can have a better season than we had last year. Our guys have worked hard in the weight room and at all the practices leading up to Friday night’s game,” said McMillan. “Pacelli is a very disciplined team and they’ve changed their offense a little. They’ll be ready and wanting to return the loss to us that we gave them last season. I look for it to be a dogfight for four quarters.”
