There is no swine flu in Pike County schools, superintendent Dr. Michael Duncan announced late Friday afternoon.

Junior Commissioner Donald Collins
Your mass emergency might have been a planned conspiracy event to showboat in front of Pike Citizens and all the media at the BOC meeting but now get some DAWN and wash the egg off your face.

Do we have great leadership and intelligent commissioners serving on the BOC or what? Let's hope this did not hit 11 Alive news. The CM is making all the commissioners and citizens look like redneck dummies. Go back to New York Mr. Marro and take your swiune flu with you.

I bet under the past administration (BOC, FD, EMA) that this would have been thoroughly investigated before any info was released and especially not during an open, public meeting.

John Morrison really dropped the ball in support of Steve Marro and Fire Chief Henderson on their false announcement. Got a lot of parents worried and took away Dr. Duncans authority to lead the BOE. Remember that when John runs for District 1 Commissioner.

The BOC should try and run their business which they can't seem to do. JC Morrison really showed his bright input praising the announcement by the CM as portocol. Where is the mans brain?

its seems some of you idiots think the BOC or whoever wanted there to be H1N1. I thought what was stated, was that there was a non-confirmed case. I imagine they are glad of the outcome.

JC Morrison jumped on the band wagon with the proper portocol. He was wrong 110% just like the damned BOC and the grandstanding. What has JC Morrison got against the BOE? I would trust the judgement of a DR. before I would trust a BOC that has no clue. Marro started all this crap and JC jumped in the boat with him. JC wake up, I thought you were smarter than that.
The Pollcat just dropped about 10 knotches as being a poster of the truth.

And what if it had of been Swine Flu. For some of us who work in the school system, it was kind of nice to know that the possibility was there, so we could watch ourselves and students. I personally think nothing wrong was done. The Griffin Daily News should be the ones in the hot seat as they are the ones who put it on the Front Page without the facts. Dr. Duncan put out up front information on prevention! How many of you have sent your kids to school even though they said they didn't feel good? How many of you wash your hands regularly? Did you know to cough into your sleeve not your hands? Hum, and you are upset with a letter of prevention!!

I am glad to hear there is no swine flu. Now you two clowns need to bow your heads in SHAME!!!! You two acted so unprofessionally.
First of all it is the BOE and Health Departments area of expertise. Henderson if you want OJT go back to CC. The EMA does not get involved in such matters.
Second, Marro how can you justify your actions? Stick to what you know best. That is…… well when I get that answer I will post it.

What facts would you like? The kids didn't test positive. Do you want the actual serum numbers or something b/c he can't release that type of info. I doubt he even knows it b/c I doubt the dr or health dept could release it.

Hello everyone! I absolutely refuse to participate in the debate of who was right and who was wrong! Actually I am relieved that I was not in any of our officials positions to have to make a choice about this whole thing. Things could have been handled differently by all parties! Please don't loose sight of the real issue...ANY flu is bad! 30,000 - 40,000 people (in just the US) die each year from this predator! I've learned a valuable lesson: take sensible action to protect you and your family!

it is protocol not portocol. Also, the person or persons who keep calling people lowlights, it is lowlife. Lowlight is when the lights are dimmed. Lowlifes are crooks, criminals, and the BOC's. They need to stick to what they know (which is nothing except how to cover up crime) and let the BOE take care of the schools.

I am a professional (not professional "KNOW IT ALL") It doesn't take a real smart person to know the CM-Marro and chief-Henderson are about worthless and playing PC for fools. I am a taxpayer in PC & I try to stay informed. Many say I just stir the pot of the heck of it. Well, just follow my posting and you will see that I am correct 99% of the time.

Read the articles. Nobody said there was swine flu in Pike County. There was never a "confirmed" case of swine flu which is what the BOE was trying to tell everyone in the first place.

The county manager got an emergency call from his fire chief emergency MA and made the announcement at the BOC meeting in front of the news media. Henderson told Marro, Marro announced it loud and clear and government activist JC Morrison stated PORTOCOL WAS FOLLOWED. That guy has never agreed with the county manager? Why now??

Again, I say that no article in the pike journal reporter stated there was a confirmed case of the swine flu in Pike County. The BOE continually stated that the two children in question were being tested for swine flu but were NOT confirmed cases. Rumors fueled this fire.

Rumors that wouldn't have been so crazy and out of control if the BOC would have let Dr. Duncan and the BOE do their jobs...They were on top of the situation....Marro and Swift were wrong....Whoever agrees with what they did are wrong to.....Rumors that fueled the fire started at that BOC meeting....And these people run our county....Yikes...

Don't leave out Don Collins! He was right there in the middle. Marro and Parrish thought they would get a big headway with this bogus news. LT. Jerkoffus Henderson from Clayton FD was put up to make the emergency call to Marro just at the right time. ALL PHONEY! Throw these bums out on the street! Fire Marro and his wanna be full time fire chief. Thank GOD Marro did not evacuate Pike County! Spoke too soon, there is a storm coming.

I just read in the Griffin Daily News that Duncan announced that the a student did indeed have swine flu. Does anybody know anything about this? Which school?? Thanks.
