Health dept. has new billing options
The Pike County Health Department can bill United Healthcare and Cigna for vaccines on state health benefit plans only.

I called to see if they could give my child a vaccination needed for Middle School. They said they didn't keep enough in stock. What??? This is supposed to be a public health department. Then I was asked what type of insurance I had. That shouldn't matter if I'm paying cash. Then I was asked if I was a school employee. That shouldn't have mattered either.

i also called about the same thing for my child going to the six grade, they told me to care my child to our family doctor to get the shots, then i thought to my self hummmmmm well what is our health department for.sooooooo we went to griffin i will never call our health department again
