Call those people what you want ! Human beings with a life, a heart, minds and family. Anonymous tonight they have lost everything. You are a real lowlight SOB.
Does it really matter what they call it? Bottom line is that it was someone's HOME. Have a little more respect for the people that have lost everything.
It appears the fire started on the fourth floor near the gym workout room, next to the health bar. The maids, butler and doorman were there and able to escape without injury. Total loss damages estimated at $450,000.
I see the Pike County snobs are out in full force. I hope you don't lose your mcmansion that is likely mortgaged to the hilt with an ARM before you even start to pay down the principal.
Ihope my daughter doesnt see all of this. She lives in a double wide.It is really nicebut she is looking for a larger home.Ihope she doesnt find one close to some of you.#5 this world would be a better place if there weremore people likeyou in it. Pleaselet us know how to contribute to this family in there time of need.
The county manager is running around building fire stations, cutting corners, giving bids only to McLeroy, leaving out doors, cutting door widths and for what? Where is the money going? With his bare hands alone he is going to reduce our ISO rating. NOT !
Tonight there is another displaced family, everything lost, not even a toothbrush. Marro's redshirthero fire department has saved another lot. That is two lots in one week.
Someone post a address or phone number where donations can be made for this family. I will contribute and ask others to do so.
Please Mr. County Manager do not post your number, this is for the family, you do not skim off the top.
I live in a TRAILER… I have friends that live in big houses, small houses, trailers, mobile homes and apartments. Some that live in the big homes have been laid off of work recently. Oh, how do they wish that they had my mortgage payment right now. Anyway since you are appalled at a family living in a trailer, why don’t you open up your home to this family in need… You most likely do not have that authority because you probably live with mom & dad. Why do I assume this? You sound like one of these spoiled brat kids that their parents obviously takes up no time with, but tries to bridge the gap with their wallet. I hope they know what they got for their money… a piece of $h1T…
Folks: I appreciate your kind words and concern. I am the daughter-in-law of the very decent man who lived there. A man who helps strangers every day, without asking for anything. A man who is a loved Grandfather. He has lost irreplaceable items that he will NEVER get back. Memories of his grandchildren, lost siblings, every article of clothing he owned, and to read some of these comments is disheartening. I want to thank all of the fine gentlemen and women who were there trying to salvage something for him, who went into the flames without hesitation to be sure the puppy and my father-in-law were safe. That is Goodness, that is honor! We appreciate you.
And for the idiocy of the other comments-Where he called his home does not make him the man he is, we live VERY well not a mile down the road, but he chose to live where he did so he could be a stone's throw from his grandchildren and that is what was near by! You all stand before God one day! Don't forget that-To The Firemen and the others that expressed their kindness here, I do not doubt you will be let in!
Thanks All for their support, he is fine, and he has a place to live.
The world is full of hatred and lies from heartless people. I am glad that your father-in-law and his puppy are fine. These people who find humor in this sadness will find that trailers and houses burn hot....but Hell burns hotter!
Dawn, you and your family will remain in our thoughts and prayers thru this hard time. Thank god he wasn't hurt or killed in this tragic event. That is the most important thing. He had a guardian angel that day. Best wishes to you and your family.
do let us know if there is anything we can "provide" clothes, whatever. Sounds like he has good family with lots of love, hoping that brings a little comfort..
I would like to say that as newcomer to Pike Co I am shocked at the way some of us treat our neighbors. I hope to never find myself in a situation where I may require the assistance of one in a time of need. I chose Pike Co for the good schools, small town charm, and what I thought was a close knit community who extended their hand or prayer in time of need. I would certainly expect that a person who has lost everything would have a hand extended to them by neighbors and that this comment page would instead be filled with words of encouragement and support. I would hope that if my trailer was on fire that you would stop and help me resue my family,as I would do it for you!! Come on Pike I know you are better than this! Dawn, my condolences to your family and especially your father-in-law, as his character is defined by his actions and not the size of his home.
Bless you and all of your family. I know that God will shine even brighter in your lives now. I am so sorry for all of the hateful things you have had to read on here. It is unreal!!!!
