A natural gas line to serve the industrial corridor on Highway 41 will be considered by the Pike County Board of Commissioners at an upcoming meeting.

Why should it even be considered for the taxpayers to pay for the pipeline? If Marro likes it then the BOC dummies will OK it. What's in it for Marro, a cushion toward his retirement? Parrish Swift and Roosevelt Willis should vote against this! Yancy and the Gas Company do not vote in Pike County.

This is his last shot at a kickback before his contract is up with Pike County. Soon he will be back in the soup line Don Collins pulled him out of in Flager County Florida. Too late for Marro to get his old job back with the IDA. Marro's dream of a Bed and Breakfast will belong to United Bank as so many others have gone. That is good, now Pike can have direction and not from a Carpetbagger.

Taxpayers it all starts with things like a free tax paid well for Parrish Swift. Then the county goes back out and builds him a insulated well house. The BOC swept that under the carpet, now comes the big one, a free million dollar gas line for Yancey Brothers. What is next?

Remember, we have a novice county manager, a new commissioner with 6 months experience (Mr. Collins)two first term commissioners Swift and Willis (1 unemployed and 1 a dump truck driver)and a new chairman in his doad age. We have voted in the stupids. None are capable of voting on a million dollar plan. They are being lead around by educated gas executives and Yancey executives. They have no clue on a county budget and no clue on a pipeline except the Pike taxpayers can pay for it.

Let's not be stupid and send the stupids back to the BOC. Vote them out. Parrish Swift and Roosevelt Willis come up next. Now let's find a county manager with experience and certifications.

I thought the industrial park was built to bring business to the county? Seems to me that laying the pipeline would possibly promote business for the industrial park. Maybe make it look more appealing to potential commercial operations creating more business revenue and jobs within the county. The grants, if obtained will pay for most of the cost. I'm all for the County moving forward.

everyone knows that the ill fated industrial park has been nothing but a joke to our community. Some fat cats thought they were going to make a buck but all the new businesses decided to skirt the property because it was cheaper. I personally think it's funny.

There ya'll rednecks go again pileing on Mr. Marro. I'll have you know Mr. Marro is a collegfe graduate. He graduedated from Mississippi State with a degree in Minority Business Administration, he has a MBA. Check it out online and you can see some of his writings.

What is the connection between a Minority Business Degree and a county manager in mid Georgia? This ain't New York City. Marro is not experienced in southern county government, not a certified county manager and will not be when his contract expires. I'm at a loss why Parrish Swift and Roosevelt Willis kiss up to the foreign intruder into my county. Maybe it is a bigger cut for the pipeline than we know?

I have to agree with a early poster. The BOC has adapted the Obama syndrome. Tax and spend, then spread the wealth. We have no say so in the BOC plans to throw a gas company one million dollars. What is sad, the current county manager want to be, cannot even turn in a balanced budget. Now he struts to give tax dollars away.

Exactly what is "Southern County Government". Please explain. You still want the county ran by the "good ole boy" system? The "carpetbaggers" pay the same taxes you do. You folks are what gives southerns a bad name. Rather than vote on someone you think will do a good job, why don't you just run for office yourself. You obviously have a better way of doing things.

There is no difference between the Obama Syndrome and the Marro Syndrome. We can thank Don Collins for bringing him here, Steve Fry for getting him hired and Parrish Swift, Roosevelt Willis and Tommy Powers for 100% supporting him. We dumped Fry, now it is time to dump the rest! It is apparent the new chairman is not going to do anything!

don collins (voted in after jake the snake) brought him here? how? he was voted in AFTER marro was already there? I also dont think parrish is 100% supportive. No apologies needed. Collins brought Marro up from Flager County Florida. Marro had been fired and was unemployed. Collins got Marro the job in the chamber of commerce IDA. Next comes Steve Fry seeing a opportunity, a yes man. Fry got him to apply and hired him as county manager, gave him a contract of gold. Fry being a smart alleck called the voters of Pike County cave people. The cave people tossed Fry out of office by 941 votes. Parrish Swift who by the way has been unemployed his entire term, follows Marro around like a little puppy dog. Parrish will take the same exit given to Steve Fry next election if he chooses to run. Maybe Parrish is just 94.1% supportive.

thanx :} I try to stay up or atleast with it but sometimes it is hard to decipher hear say (or just plan old gossip)from the facts. From the times that I have spoken to Parrish I havent noticed a "bond" with Marro but... Marro's contract is up soon isnt it? doubt he will stick around BUT then you wonder who else they will get in there. I think sometimes it is a lossing battle.

We won the battle with Steve Fry. We can will the battle with Steve Marro and Parrish Swift. Keep your guard up, two positions up for re-election. Commissioner Willis is trying hard to do what is right and shut down code enforcement which is a costly joke. Powers will not finish his term. The chairmans clout is gone. All we have is Don Collins who thinks he is a gift to Pike County, he continues to carryout the little Marine syndrome.

Get ready to vote.

When the BOC meets to vote on this $1,000,000.00 give away watch the commissioners carefully. Those that vote for it have no choice, they have already obligated themselves to Yancey Brothers, The Gas Company and of course Steve Marro.

When the county manager's contract is up, be in for a surprise. The Carpetbagger will offer his services to Pike county for health coverage only, tossing his $90,000 + $9,600 auto allowance + his Jekyll Island trips aside. He cannot leave a position $uch as he is in. There is a lot more money to be made like with the pipeline, all non-taxable.

Just why do you think Tommy Powers and Parrish Swift are commissioners? INSURANCE ! They could care less about the citizens of Pike County. Parrish Swift said he does not read the local newspaper. I believe it. #1 he can't read and #2 he does what Steve Marro tells him to do. Often Roosevelt Willis holds Parrish's hand up to vote.

VOTE THE BUM'S OUT OF OFFICE.

The pipeline will pass. Just like Scarbrough thumbs his nose at the citizens of Pike. We don't matter. Planning and Development along with Code Enforcement does not matter. The BOC is not doing their jobs and the county manager is totally out of control or is he in control. Had enough? Voice your opinion to anybody that will listen.
