The Pride of Pike festival has a new sponsor this year, but county residents can still enjoy a fireworks extravaganza and a family-friendly event celebrating Independence Day.
Pride of Pike 2009 is being hosted by the Pike parks and recreation authority. The chamber of commerce, the previous host, decided in March to dump the July 4 festival due to the cost amid the current depressed economic climate. The authority then took over the event.

Was Spalding County Manager William Wilson a Certified County Manager? Got to give it to Commissioner Goss, he has a pair.

Yes he is and has been a very good one for many years. He has always work for the best intrest of his county. He was the assistant cm for years and the cm for the last ten years or so.

Looks like Mr. Wilson would have help Steve Marro study for his county manager certification exam. Word from a member of the BOC is Marro has failed it 3 times. Anyone know how many times he can take it? Thanks Tommy.
