Pike County High School Pirates showed support for fellow student Brent Beshers who died after a strong battle with leukemia. He passed away April 30. He was a sophomore at PCHS and was a Pirates football player.
The Pirates have made it to round two of the playoffs. The round two opponent has yet to be determined as Appling County and Central Carroll has yet to play due to rains over the weekend. The next game day is scheduled to be on Wednesday, May 8. That is apt to change depending on the GHSA to re-schedule games. The second round will be in Pike County regardless of the outcome between Appling and Central Carroll.
Members of the Pirates baseball team wear arm bands in honor of the late Brent Beshers who fought a two-year battle with leukemia. The Pirates baseball team also wore orange show laces in support of Beshers because orange is the color that signifies leukemia cancer.
