It is wonderful you provide a site of trust. A site where you can speak, freedom to post ones thoughts and beliefs. A site where a poster knows their IP, Social Security Number, DOB will not be sold or traded for favors. Carry on, you have done well.

How does this work? Is it a usage fee? Or is it added to our property tax bill? How much is this going to set me back?

The obvous question with this is, just what is the real difference in a "fee" and a "tax"?

the real question is What if you don't live in Zebulon and you have 2 volunteer fire departments between where you live and Zebulon? I doubt i will have to use them, i think Zebulon residents should be the only people paying this unless the other fire departments get something then i'm cool with it.

it started off with Only the county stations(Hollonville, Lifsey Springs, Williamson and Second District) It is up to the cities if they would like to join. So far Zebulon and Concord have showed intrest.

Does anyone know the cost to the homeowner for this? The economy sucks, I've been laid off and can't find a job and I don't understand why the county keeps increasing our taxes in these bad times???????????????????

The cost is broken down to value of your parcel of property. see the actual cost on the last print of the pjr

Rachel; I do not believe Parrish Swift will run again. Word is he sealed his fate by not supporting Commissioner Powers and Willis. Parrish has made his stay to comfortable with the county manager and Commissioner Collins.

What do the people living outside the city limits get out of this other than another hand in our pockets?
