Mr. Douglas Lamar Mangham, age 80, of Zebulon, passed away January 14, 2013 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lifsey Springs to the late Elmer Mangham and Georgia Adams Mangham. He served in the United States Army. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and worked as a Juvenile Officer for Pike and surrounding counties, retiring after many years of employment. He was elected to two terms as Chairman of the Pike County Commission. Mr. Mangham enjoyed being around people and was very active in the community. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Minter Mangham.
He is survived by his children: Teresa Burousas and Stan Mangham; sisters: Margaret Brown and Lucille Oglesby; and brother-in-law: Floyd Minter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 17, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Molena. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
