Thousands of paper ballots are stacked in the courtroom during the Nov. 4, 2008 General Election. Employees began cutting open the yellow envelopes around 7:07 p.m. and sometime after 1 a.m., the Pike County presidential election was officially declared in favor of George W. Bush.
