For many Pike County candidates, the July 31 primary election may be the deciding vote for local elected offices since the county has no Democratic opposition.
The Pike County Republican Party is hosting a Meet and Greet July 14 so voters can meet candidates running for various elected positions. It will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, July 14 at Barnstormer’s Grill in Williamson.

3. Barack Obama 2012
For the past 68 years, all presidents, except Obama, have paid tribute to the fallen soldiers killed on D-Day.
This year, instead of honoring the soldiers, he made a campaign trip on Air Force 1 to California to raise funds for the upcoming election.
