County commissioners were presented with the proposed fiscal year 2012-13 budget at the April 24 meeting. The proposed budget is $8.54 million, a $41,234 reduction from the first draft and around $200,000 less than last year’s budget.
Pike County should always hire local talent. We have the educated talent here to run our own government and they contribute to paying taxes here. The Pike County Clerk, is she from here or living in Pike County?
I can't agree with that position at all - I think Pike should cast a wide net, and then require the chosen candidate to relocate to Pike. What you want is the best person for the job - not the best one that you can find in Pike. However, once that person is chosen, they should be more than happy to relocate to the place in which they manage; anything less would be wrong. Having said that, I can't disagree with the BOE's decision to let Duncan stay in Fayette; but only because the size of the school there makes it possible for his children to compete in sports programs that Pike doesn't offer. That seems reasonable to me.
It is refreshing to see an individual address her elders as Mr. and Ms. I guess I am your elder, Jenifer. I remember when the pyramids were built. I haven't been addressed as Miss or Ms since I was the Madam of that house of ill repute. I always loved it when they called me Ms. Madam.
Smith is such a common name.....email me Ms. Jenifer firstname.lastname@example.org...we will talk about those days.
Are you still loved as much as you were? I miss your profits.
Did Mr. Sawyer not agree to relocate? Seems he knew it was 80 miles to home and office when he took the job. You are not going to find with a wide net a professional to relocate to Pike for $80,000. I disagree on Duncan and Fayette, poor excuse and a slap in the face to Pike School System. Do you agree with all the Clayton, Henry and Upson SUV tags unloading their children off at Pike Schools?
Thank you Mr. B or Mr. Blount...which one Danny?
