Funds raised for kids with special needs

Paris in Pike was a magical night for more than 150 people of all ages as the fundraising fashion show featured 14 residents with special needs. Three local fifth grade students, Scarlett Mullis, Abbi Hood and Ashleighanna Johnson, came up with the idea several months ago.

I applaud Scarlett Mullis, Abbi Hood and Ashleighanna Johnson for coming up with such a thoughtful idea. Special thanks also to the organizers and sponsors.

If I were a little girl again, I would borrow Lily's dress for Valentines' Day, Alicia's for Easter, and Abby's when I wanted to feel beautiful like a princess. They are all beautiful young ladies.

It's things like this that make me so proud of all the folks in Pike County - and, it makes me homesick too!
