Fallen soldiers honored

As thousands of soldiers are withdrawn from Iraq after eight years of fighting, local heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country are being memorialized here at home. The war in Iraq claimed more than 4,400 lives and wounded more than 33,000 soldiers.

Too bad that you have to go around the world to find a true dedication to a "local" fallen Marine! Seems like a disgrace to me that he graduated from Pike County High School and the "Board of Education" thinks its ok to lump his sacrifice to his country in with just anyone who might have passed away in Pike county. No offense to others but this young Marine, father, son, brother and friend deserves so much more. Sorry just don't understand the Pike County Board of Education and commissiion's way of thinking.
