Volunteers sort through the debris of a home in Barnesville destroyed by the April tornado. The storm passed over Pike County for the most part, but killed several in surrounding counties.
County could get emergency notification system
Pike County commissioners discussed a software license agreement with DeltAlert to provide citizens with an emergency notification system during local, state and national emergencies. The total startup cost is $14,950, with around $9,000 in FEMA grants and pledged funding.
