Suzie you will missed so much I am praying for your sweet Momma & Daddy & brother we love you and praying for Matt's family and Evan to recover. God give your family strength.
R.I.P. Suzie!! I will never forget you never..this is really hard for me to even think of...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family...my support and love...you were my classmate in school and you always had a wonderful smile and I will always remember you that way...happy
Susie managed the 1Touch Wireless store over in Barnesville. Sweet, quick and courteous. Just an absolute doll! Adored her.
My condolences to the families during this heartbreaking time. May God comfort you.
You do not leave someone out of a story because of who they are. It does not matter how much money or influence you have. He was the driver and now the story has been updated with his name.
The wreck that killed a driver last month, the girl survived with a secret name and the accident was caused by "bad weather." This driver was not identified until someone screamed. This accident must have been caused by road ice and snow. The elected officials should do their jobs and not cover-up for people who think they are special.
Time is here to quit the, I know somebody that knows somebody.
We are all somebody that would just expect straight answers from elected officials.
If we were told all of the details I am afraid you would find out he was not the only one who may have been under the influence, go to their facebook pages and you will see how their lives played out. It is a sad day when our youngsters live to drink and party. Parents need to know what their kids are doing, I am sure this did not just start recently.
I want to give my condolences to the families of Suzie and Matt. I did not know Matt but I did know Suzie! She was a wonderful girl! She will be missed!
As for the comments about Austin ~~ Make sure you have the facts before trying to slander someone. No one is trying to cover up for him or anyone else. The truth will soon come out!
The facts are, no one even told the person writing the story that 4 people were involved in this accident. When he found out he did come back and correct the story - not his fault. Four people were involved and it should have been told. The truth is hard to take sometimes and people get real upset when it comes out, but it is what it is and you cannot hide the truth. Please show where someone was trying to slander Austin. Slander and truth are two different things.
I think u ppl wanting to throw out names and only tell bad things about ppl need to keep quiet. As being a parent who has lost a child at a young age in a vehicle accident please know these parents are going through hell on earth right now. Please respect these families and those lost. Just imagine if it was ur family going through this. Everyone makes bad choices and mistakes but these famines had paid a horrible price. Please have the maturity to be quiet.
Let the families morn in peace! What has happened is tragic and if drugs and/or alcohol was involved, it will come out in the end. The truth always does! And I was referring to comment #14! It is TOTALLY out of line!!!! Show the families some respect and keep things like this out of it!
Adult to adult, no one needs you to tell them to be quiet. You do not have to read the comments or comment on the post. 2 were injured and 2 lost their lives, but all the families have to deal with what has happened. Again, the truth is hard to take sometimes but we all have to face it.
I am curious as well as who the passenger was in the other accident. It's funny once people started to question who it was the comments were disabled. Makes ya wonder who's wife it may have been...
Even if they were all under the influence, they were adults. Doesn't make it right, but the truth. My condolances for the families that were involved in this tragedy.

To all these people worried about the pike county drama....this is a time to B-REAL with the situation at hand two special people lost their lives. Karma will determin the rest let the families morn.... Let them be at peace
GOD BLESS EVERYONE IN THIS MESS EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON THAT WE MAY NEVER KNOW ABOUT IT SUCKS TO LOOSE LOVED ONES AND IF ARE KIDS MAKE A MISTAKE BUT I THINK PPL NEED TO BACK OF THESE PPL AND GROW UP I PRAY FOR THE ONES WHO LOST AND THE ONES WHO LIVED BC THEY HAVE TO LIVE WITH WHAT HAPPENED FOR THE REST OF THERE LIVES NO ANYONE ELSE BC WE GREAVE BUT SOON IT WILL GO AWAY SO GOD BLESS EVERYONE FAMILY.
What in the world is wrong with you people. This is not something to slander and mock. There is no need to jump to conclusions until all the details are available. People died. They will never be with us again. Be respectful. Consider these families. This is heart breaking. The rude out of line comments are un-called for. Period.
I think Pike co. sheriffs office needs to regroup and get their story straight. When they woke my sister up to tell her Evan had been in a wreck with 2 fatalities, they only mentioned 3 people in the car. When we got to Grady, where Evan was air-lifted, the nurse told us, "the report they got said there were 4 people in the car." We were stuned and afraid that another one of Evans friends might be injured or killed. The investigation is still on going, as I tried to get a copy of the police report last night. Pike County, your Sheriffs department needs help if they can't do any better than this. How many times will this story change?
Yes,the truth is hard to take. Right now, two families are dealing with that truth, as they will every day of the rest of their lives. None of these families needs anyone's cowardly, anonymous insults, admonitions or judgements about what happened or why.
We have all made stupid decisions, some of us more frequently than others. We don't know the circumstances, but what ever they are, these young adults and their families are paying a heavy price and those who are left to pick up the pieces don't need anything but our love and support right now, so if you can't offer that, shut up and go crawl back under that rock.
Walter, please stop taking comments on this story. This is a tragedy and the families- all of them- are hurting enough right now. The last thing they need is added pain from some people's viciousness.
First off, it is no one's business but the family's of what happened to cause this situation. What is important is that my friend's are gone, never to return again, and their families are left with empty spaces and broken hearts. For crying out loud........who doesnt drink? Everyone makes mistakes. We are ALL human. Let the one without sin cast the first stone. Furthermore, I can't believe that anyone would get on here and talk about such nonesense, with little to no regard that the families and friends may be reading this. Allo them to mourn in peace. If you have nothing positive to say, just go away and say nothing at all. We can ALL do without your negativity and criticism. Ugggghhhhhhh!!!!!! Matthew was a kindred spirit who would do anything to help anyone. He never bothered anyone. Suzie brought smiles to the faces of anyone who was in her presence. Whether they were drinking or not has nothing to do with who they were and what they contributed to society. I dont know the other two occupants of the vehicle, but I pray that GOD may heal them both physically and spiritually. If you care enough to speculate about people, care enough to pray for them. The end!
You apparently didn't read the article on the Justin Peeples accident. Go back and read it on this website... Very interesting that the passenger was never mentioned in the Pike Paper. Gotta love a small town.
#23....Who doesn't drink???...If they were drinking Thank God no innocent person was traveling in the opposite direction and lost their life...If they were Thank God an innocent child wasn't in the vehicle that didn't have a choice to get in the car...IF they were drinking...a positive that could come out of such a tragedy would be that their friends would think twice and not do the same thing...IF they were drinking I pray that God gives peace to the ones that survived so that they can live with the aftermath..because that will be the hard part!
EVERYONE JUST STOP THE MADNESS! LET THE INVESTIGATORS DO THEIR JOBS AND DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED! I KNOW EVERYONE IS UPSET THAT THEIR WERE LIVES TAKEN AS WELL AS I AM BUT COME ON!? DEATH IS A HORRIFIC THING AND THESE FAMILIES NEED ALL OF THE PEACE AND COMFORT THEY CAN GET RIGHT NOW! SUSIE! YOU WERE A FRIEND AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN WE HAVE SO MANY MEMORIES.....
So if everything is everyone's business, it's our business to know what your name is.
So please do tell us who you are so we can dig in your closet and air your dirty laundry here, so we can all discuss it. Must be plenty for us to talk about- maybe an affair, a bankruptcy, a bad credit rating, a fight with a neighbor, something stupid you did as a kid. After all, according to you, IT IS OUR BUSINESS, right? Just give us your name. We'll do the rest.
Read Austin's Facebook status that he wrote on Oct. 23..speechless, considering what happened. I wouldn't ride in a vehicle with anyone who has that outlook on life.

my parents were first responders to both accidents

i wanna know why all of these young adulys who had accidents was on chapple hill? they don't live on chapple hill do they? maybe they hung out at someone's house on that road? and why all of a sudden 2011 has become the year for these kids to take the road? remember if you are riding down chapple hill take it slow there are sharp curves, gravle on the pavement, dog and other animals, children and people walking on this road, i beg you please keep it 45 and below don't txt while driving or drink or arguee on any road this road is a dark road it's beautiful during the day lots of green grass beautiful houses but at night it's not a good idea to go down it unless you are carefull r.i.p suzie, matt and justin and i hope austin, evan and "mystery girl" (her name kept quiet for a reason) recovers mentally and physically
Well Johnny, had they found the 4th person at the time? They were not wearing seatbelts and wasn't one was thrown from the car. I know your angry because this is your family, but they did come back and correct the story. Walk a mile in an officer's shoes before casting a stone.
I have to wonder how much the condition of the road had to do with the accident and the one that claimed the life of a young man back in September. Both happened where gravel from dirt roads washes into the roads. There are many other such dangerous spots in the county, Kings Bridge Road at River Road being one that has claimed multiple lives.
Most of the county roads are narrow and hard to drive, with nighttime making it 100 times worse. I do not want to point fingers at the Road Department. They have only a handful of people to work all the county's roads. They have to grade, scrape, and patch roads. They maintain signs and cut the grass on rights of way. It seems to me that the last year has been worse than it has been for many years.
Looking at most of the scenes it is apparent that driving too fast for conditions has much to do with these tragic accidents, too. One cannot ignore the condition of the roadway, though. It is high time five ring circus and Mr. Sawyer the circus master get a little heat for their part in this. The victims of these wrecks have pretty intelligent parents who might be very tempted to sue. What is a little bit more for me to pay in taxes so that we can settle lawsuits?
In response to #38 ggscocoa , Who dosen't drink ? I don't drink ! Why don't I drink you may ask ? Because of this, What one good thing does alcohol or drugs contribute to one person or our world ? Exactly nothing except for accidents just like this one and the millions to come, Nothing but child abuse , spousal abuse, Broken homes, lives and marriages that is all they contribute. Maybe someone will learn from this is all we are saying. But how ignorant for someone to say everyone drinks !!! May God bless the hurting families and all who are touched by this.
With the amount of taxes we pay and it being the year 2011 why is there even one dirt road to be found ? It is a shame that anyone has to live or drive down a dirt road in the 21rst century !!!
Dont you dare blame the roads for this. I have been down those roads multiple times without incident. Sue, for what their grown children drinking, driving, goofing off and having an accident. How dare you lay the blame on the roads in our county. Stop making excuses for these people. I have had family members get in trouble and we did not make excuses for them, we let them face what they did. Why don't you pay to fix the roads, since you do not know how to drive on them.
Country Rds take Me Home to the place I belong,
That's Pike County and I love the dirt rds. Nobody living on a dirt rd bougt the house cause of a paved rd.
Elcee,
What a kind heart you have. All these families do need our prayers and acts of love. Jesus taught to love goood folks, as well as, folks who make mistakes. He died for sinners not for saints.
Let's all wait about judgements, Not all the dtails are known yet.
thanks again Elcee, for being the voice of reason in a situation that is unreasonable.
I think we all need to be praying all the families involved. Not just the families that are going through the loss of loved ones but the other two families as well because the to that survived will have their own troubles to face. It's sad that this had to happen but "IF," they were all drinking then they made the choice to ride in the vehicle. We are not talking about teenagers, they were all adults. We also need to pry that God is in the middle of the investigation and "IF" there is something that needs to be brought to light, it will be. I'm praying for all foour families including Austin.
Pike County is a small country county. Most citizens that live here like it this way (dirt roads and all). If you want paved roads, move to a larger city with a lot of paved roads.
So now the story is that there were 5 in the car?
Has there been any updates as to the cause of the accident or even the condition of the the guy that was airlifted?
My heart breaks for the families and friends of Matt and Suzie. R.I.P Karo!
This is terrible tragedy, and no one can deny that fact. Young adults (and everyone else) can have accidents on paved roads, too. Changing the road surface isn't going to prevent the accidents.
There are choices about which roads you live on, and which roads you drive on. And you're right, it's the 21st century and you can live anywhere you want - I suggest Clayton or Henry county if you like pavement. There are a lot of houses for sale up there - go get you one. We had dirt roads when you got here.
It would be very inappropriate to use this tragedy as a catalyst for pavement.
Maybe it'd be better to get the 38 idle Sheriff's Dept cars patroling and writing out a few more tickets to slow folks down - that would be better than paving Pike County, and the cars already belong to Pike Co. So, if you're going to raise taxes for public safety, put the money in the Sheriff's Office where it will make a difference, and just maybe they can catch the copper thieves, too, in addition to slowing folks down a little more.
I think you miss a big point I tried to make. It has nothing to do with driving on dirt roads but on paved roads. Let's try another way.
You are driving down a dark country road. It is paved. You transition into a curve. Right in the middle of it you lose control because gravel has been washed from the dirt road that intersects it to the right. Gravel from that road is now present in half of your lane.
What happens depends on many things. Speed, experience, impairment, knowledge of the area, repair of vehicle, and so on. I know that this has happened to me, but I was able to drive through it. That did not happen the other night, and young people died.
I am talking about poor repair of roads in general, specifically the grade of dirt roads that allows sand, gravel, and other debris wash out into a well-traveled paved road.
If anyone is naive enough to believe that the county will not get sued for this eventually, you are really a fool.
It is a very sad situation for all those involved, but as others have previously stated: The people in the car were adults, and they untimately chose the decision to get into the vehicle. It all rests on the driver in my opinion. If you want to fault all over the place how bad*** you are, and then talk only a week before the accident how you purposefully hit a deer then there is something seriously wrong. I feel for his family, but I don't feel any sympathy for Austin. He chose to drive, and none of us are strangers to what happens when you are not sober and choose to drive.
Disgusted with some of the comments on here. What we have here is a horrible tradgedy that is going to affect four families for the rest of their lives! Have some compassion and sympathy instead of looking for something or someone to blame. I'm sure everyone on here has made a poor choice/ choices in life at one point and time. Unfortunately, some are worse than others. Let these families grieve in peace and have some respect for them!!

Living on West Road and oh my the SPEEDERS
on
11/16/11 at 01:19 PM
I live on West Road and oh my gosh I can hear and then go see Cars and Trucks flying up and down the road. Many times it is kids using West as a Cut thru road between Hollonville Road and Bottoms Road. Heck sometimes I dont know what bus driver it is but geesh they seem to be driving really fast carrying the kids of Pike County. I wish the kids flying up and down West Road would slow down.
Danny B your ignorant, You and all your ignorant friends and those defending the dirt roads and that they are nice and (country) Do the math it takes more tax dollars to keep dirt roads up and driveable than to pave them !!! Who said raise taxes ? I didn't ! We pay enough taxes already ! Who said I live on a dirt road ? I don't but occasionaly drive on them and have lots of friends that do live on them and guess what they all wish they were PAVED !!! So obviouly you who are so keen on keeping the dirt roads don't live or drive on them ! Yes pike had dirt roads when i got here I was born here in 1937 and have seen most paved and paid more taxes than most of you on here since then so what is wrong with me wanting the rest paved !!! My opinion so deal with it. !!! J.S.
Susie was close to being my daughter-in-law. She and my son Jesse were together since 2006, and, during that time I was blessed so many times with her beautiful and endearing smile. She always lit up the room with her warm personality. I went to Moody's yesterday afternoon to help comfort Jesse. He would not leave her side there. Tears were falling as he was saying some endearing words to her. But, this time she could not give us that smile. The heartbreak of this tragedy will linger for eternity with her family and with those that close to her. Only those who have undergone such a loss will be able to understand the pain of having lost a loved one so close. This is not the time to make judgements toward or about anybody, any cause, or any reason. It is time to respect, to mourn, to cry, and above all to pray.
#14.1, you should be ashamed of yourself! You don't even know my sister-in-law. Go ahead, check her facebook page to "see how their lives played out". Suzie did not live for drinking and partying. She was a manager at Barnesville & Forsyth Verizon, she was a college student at the same time, she was smart and beautiful. Above all, she lived for HER FAMILY, always. Yes, Suzie had something to drink, but ya know what she wasn't the one driving the car! Austin was, and Austin refused a BAC and for some reason he wasn't arrested. HMMMMMM. Suzie wasn't a teenager, she was 25 years old. She's someone's daughter & someone's sister, and I'm praying to God the Guglielmo family never reads this because y'all are disrespecful and heartless! If don't know Suzie, Matt, or Evan: Keep your heartless opinions to yourself!
Nope, but I'm not the one who thinks everything is everybody else's business.
Since you make that claim, then put your name out there for us to pick you and your family apart, because according to you, it IS eventually our business, right?
Let's see how you and yours stand up to the scruitny you think is fair to subject others to.
If-by-whiskey refers to a 1952 speech by Noah S. "Soggy" Sweat, Jr., a young lawmaker from the U.S. state of Mississippi, on the subject of whether Mississippi should continue to prohibit (which it did until 1966) or finally legalize alcoholic beverages.
My friends, I had not intended to discuss this controversial subject at this particular time. However, I want you to know that I do not shun controversy. On the contrary, I will take a stand on any issue at any time, regardless of how fraught with controversy it might be. You have asked me how I feel about whiskey. All right, here is how I feel about whiskey:
If when you say whiskey you mean the devil's brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster, that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean the evil drink that topples the Christian man and woman from the pinnacle of righteous, gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, and despair, and shame and helplessness, and hopelessness, then certainly I am against it.
But, if when you say whiskey you mean the oil of conversation, the philosophic wine, the ale that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and laughter on their lips, and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean Christmas cheer; if you mean the stimulating drink that puts the spring in the old gentleman's step on a frosty, crispy morning; if you mean the drink which enables a man to magnify his joy, and his happiness, and to forget, if only for a little while, life's great tragedies, and heartaches, and sorrows; if you mean that drink, the sale of which pours into our treasuries untold millions of dollars, which are used to provide tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitiful aged and infirm; to build highways and hospitals and schools, then certainly I am for it.
This is my stand. I will not retreat from it. I will not compromise.
Like a lot of people, I was a partier in my younger days. My friends and I made many stupid decisions that, but for the grace of God, could have landed us in the same tragic situation as these young people.
If the driver was under the influence, there may be (and should be) additional consequences for him to face at a later date, but right now, these families need our prayers and support, not cruelty and blame.
I guarantee you that the people who are writing that junk in anonymous posts wouldn't dare go up to a member of their families and say the same, cruel things to their face, so that makes them cowards.
I pray that God will bring something good out of this tragedy, and I thank Him that others were not hurt or killed, too. Two lives lost is two too many.
Wow. it blows my mind how rude some people are on this post. There are families seriously hurting and grieving and you want to point fingers at how some people have more pull? Others of you are mad because the paper didn't give you ever little detail about who was involved..really yall? If it was your child wouldn't you want a little respect and decency? Instead of just trying to stick your nose in other people's lives you should try praying for them instead.
Emotion. I don't understand why someone who DIDN'T have a relationship with the departed would feel the need to comment on an article relative to the event, outside of offering their condolences.
Reply to: #72 Sheila {Trolley} For your info I do know Danny {Blunt} And I also know you ! Your both ignorant. Knew your father very well !! Sure he'd be real proud. Pavement to dirt huh ? Yeah good luck on that one idiots (never happen)
J.S.
Reply to #25.1.1 Sheila Tolley
You did just compromise !!!
And stay off Wikipedia and Google for your postings, These foolish people on here will think you come up with your stupid crap all on your own.
I honestly do not believe it is anyone's business as to who was in the wreck at all. It happened right in front of my parent's house. My mom called me freaking out and checking on me. The families of everyone in that vehicle are having a hard time dealing with everything going on. I love Pike County very much, but everyone here is much too nosey and wants to be in everyone else's business when it has absolutely nothing to do with them. What does what happens to Austin have anything to do with or make a difference in anyone else's life besides his families and the lives of the ones lost? It doesn't! So instead of slandering the victims and lost ones lives, we should use this time to show the family nothing but support during this very difficult time in their lives. To ALL the families involved in this incident, just please know that most of Pike County is praying for all of you, & we hope you can see that.
It matters to people because anyone of our family members could have been on that road and struck by that car that night. It matters because we have a right to drive down the road and feel safe. It matters because justice means everyone is treated the same no matter who you are. It matters!
Why would I read an article about my sister-in-law. WOW, what a good question! Geez, I don't know- probably because I have had numerous people telling me about the ignorance posted on here about my sister-in-law. Who takes time to post crap about people that died in a car wreck? Answer me that!
Chelsea..IF this person who was driving was drinking or under the influence of drugs when he wrecked his vehicle, killing two of his friends, then it IS our business "what happens to Austin". He is a grown man. I looked at his FB page. Did you? He wrote that he "was a bad.. and that only the good die young". His friends were therefore, very good. I think we all need to know if he is going to be once again driving on the same roads that we all drive. What if he had plowed into another family that night? Would it still be nobody's business? Yes, what he writes on his FB page is his business, but if he is going to drink and drive, that is EVERYBODY'S business.
this is not the forum to discuss why some people get a pass on the rules that everyone else has to live by.
my condolences to the families who have lost their dearest possession. the loss of a child is unbearable.
i think an article should be submitted to the paper and then published on this site to discuss why certain members of our society get a pass on obeying the law of the land. here are a few that should be discussed:
- children of judges, police officers and others who are politically affiliated
- occupy wall street
- recipients of welfare, ebt, snap and the 100's of other programs that we disguise in order to obfuscate the real meaning (handout)
- politicians
there needs to be a country-wide discussion of these matters.
but please, let's stop discussing it here. the people who have lost loved ones already have to endure what no one should have to endure.
Seen some more investigators looking at the scene yesterday...at least they're doing their jobs and not visiting their girlfriend while on duty behind their wife's back.
SUZIE WAS MY BEST FRIEND SHE WAS THE GODMOTHER OF MY SON!!!! WE WILL MISS HER VERY MUCH!!! FOR THE PPL WHO DIDNT KNO HER KEEP URMOUTHS SHUT PLS! SHE WAS A GREAT PERSON, FRIEND, SISTER AMD DAUGHTER! I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR GOOD TIMES AND BAD(VERY FEW BAD)... I LOVE HER AND WILL TRULY MISS HER! MAY SUZIE AND MATT REST IN PEACE! YALL WILL NEVER EVER BE FORGOTTEN! MUCH LOVE GIRL!!!!!
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN SAID ON THIS SITE! IT IS DISGUSTING! LIVES WERE LOST, YOUNG LIVES!! THESE FAMILIES NEED PEOPLE TO HAVE RESPECT AT THESE TIMES! I AGREE WITH FAT BASS TARD .... THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THIS KIND OF DISCUSSION! LET THESE FAMILIES MORN IN PEACE! I KNEW 3 OF THE 4 YOUNG ADULTS IN THIS ACCIDENT AND I DO NOT APPRECIATE ANY OF THIS! I CAN'T IMAGINE THE WHY PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO DO THESE KINDS OF THINGS!
Well, I'm sure I don't know you - I'm not even sure if you're dirtroad, huh, JS or yesido; I don't know any of those folks - and if you were born in 1937, I'm guessing you must be 74 years old. I'm surprised that you would argue using personal name calling at your age, just argue your point and let me and my ignorant friends enjoy the intellectual stimulation you seem to exude.
So, "dirtroads" made a post and claimed that with the taxes currently paid, we should not have dirt roads. Then, you claim you didn't say anything about raising taxes; are you "dirtroads" and logged on as all the other names - or just jumped in to impart your infinite wisdom? Anyway, as I responded to "dirtroads", that means you will have to raise taxes OR cut from somewhere to get the money to pave the current dirt roads. Where will that money come from? I don't need to do a lot of math to figure that out - you need more, not less, in order to pave any road. That's logic. If you think the cost of maintenance on a dirt road is going to cover the cost of asphalt, I have some beach front land in Zebulon I'd like to sell ya!
I don't know who you are, but I'm always up for a good argument. Ignorant or not. LOL.
I love you Sheila. I didn't know your father, but I know lots of other folks that are proud of you! I wonder how all these posers know so many people, yet no one knows them - it's a mystery.
Let me mention that when my brother lost his life in his auto out in Colorado 17 years ago, I walked into a convenience store close to the accident site and the people in the store were very busy dissecting the accident. I could have taken their comments as condemnation but I guess I realized many years ago that "what people don't know, they'll make up".
I also know well how grief can make us lash out in anger since grief is too scary to contend with.
I almost think that Susie's and Evan's families are so busy with their own pain that the silliness going on here is very small in the overall scheme of their realities.
So, let's all take a moment to step back and remember Susie and Matt with love and respect. Let's pray for young Evan's recovery. He will be dealing with the healing of body and spirit since he may wonder why he survived when his friends didn't.
Let's also pray for young Austin. He will have some difficulties ahead. Perhaps what you saw on his Facebook page has come back to haunt him. I can almost guarantee he has a long hard road ahead of him.
As much crap as you and Trolley have spewed on these boards in the past and every single post ever posted destroying good discussions and you are going to try to come on here and tell others what they should and should not do. Give me a break you should go back and crawl in your cardboard box. Geeesh what a loser you are.
Let this also be a time that we all look at what we post on our facebook pages, how are people going to feel when you are gone and they read the info you have written. I always try to be careful of what I post, I would never post anything my mom or my boss could not read. Those of us who have read these peoples pages have seen how it has come back to haunt them and now someone has cleared alot of info off of them. They are embarrassed by what they have found. Do not do this to the family's you will one day leave behind. I also feel this is why the friends are so desperately trying to defend them, so sad.
I was going through my news feed on facebook, and noticed a friend made a statement about individuals making horrible comments about the individuals that were involved in the accident early Sunday morning. Then soon after found out it was from the Pike Journal. Which does not suprise me one bit, considering you see the same people that seem to have nothing better to do than talk about people and their families. I do not know the direct names of the individuals speaking in this way, but I will say this....each individual involved are good people. When we are young, we have a habit of making bad decisions and living the "dare devil life". It is all apart of growing. I just as many others in Pike County walked the halls with Suzie, Austin, Evan and Matt. Suzie had a heart like no other I have come across in my 25 years of being here. She had a smile that would brightin anyones day. Always had kind words for EVERYONE and NEVER placed any type of judgement on anyone.I have known her family for years, lived right down the road from them. They are good people, INSIDE AND OUT. That is more than most of you on here can say! Austin Ingram, I may not have known the man he became, but the boy I once knew was just as good of a person as sweet Suzie Guglielmo. I never hung out with Evan, but I seen him in the halls, and he was always laughing and having a good time. Matt, I have heard nothing but good from individuals who had the chance to know who he was. As we grow, we make mistakes. We live our lives, we have fun, we smile, we laugh, we cry. ITS LIFE. To everyone that feels the need to talk about these individuals, and their families....think about the life you once lived, the life you are living....is it really as perfect as you make it out to be? So perfect you find it ok to place judgement on these people?? I think not! Not a one of you are perfect, everyone has dust under their rugs. EVERYONE!! I find this information sad, and it hurts me to even think that someone would bad mouth these individuals. ESPECIALLY Suzie.
I pray that each of these families find comfort, and peace with the current situation. Many of us are praying for you. And ALL of us that KNEW these individuals will CHERISH the memories we shared together.
Its a shame that 2 young people lost their lives and all people can concentrate on is who Austins parents and who was or wasnt under the influence and checking out facebook pages COME ON PEOPLE for God's sake let all of us who loved someone who was injured or died mourn in peace. I loved Suzie like a sister, she and I had some great times together. She was an amazing person and I will always miss her! Austin is also a great person and Evan also. I didnt know Matt but my condolences to the family. Suzie, I will always love you and you will always be missed!
How did a accident forum turn into a dirtroad debate ? Anyway I have to somewhat agree with the old timer (J.S.) or whoever he is. He or they didn't mention raising taxes he only stated that he believes we pay enough already. I would assume he means the monies being collected already should be spent more wisely. I see the Christmas (holiday for the politcally correct) lights are already up and on in Zebulon. How much is that costing the citizens ? I say lets wait till the turkey at least has his day before they get turned on. Maybe not enough to pave a road but save $ none the less. Have never lived on a dirt road but I do believe their taxes should be lowered for many reasons, Car repairs as dirt roads are rougher on shocks, struts, air filters etc: Home A/C filters clog faster, Extra car washes are needed, Property value couldn't be worth as much as home on good pavement, Not able to just take a walk as they would have to breath all that dust when a car passes by when dry weather etc: etc: I'm sure those who do live on a dirt road could offer more advice as to why it has its disadvantages as will as advantages. Just my two cents.
If the waste is cut out, there is no need to raise taxes. You can bet that most people are tired of paying tax increase after tax increase so that the elected morons can piss away more and more money.
another fool. i guess i proved you wrong one too many times. it's ok, you'll find something to be right about one day. try agreeing with something i say. it's a good way to be right for the first time.
2 people lost their lives and ignorant people on here are being heartless about it. No matter how it happened it is still a tragedy! Get over yourselves and have some respect for these families. To me your nothing but scum! Im praying for all the familes involved in this and everyone should be! What if this was your children involved. Think about that! R.I.P Suzie and Matt!
someone posted a comment about austin drinking as to say so what he was drinking all of them were up to no good just look at their facebooks. well i have news for you matthew was my neighbor all my life. he was a dear sweet soul and he would have done anything he could for anyone. and he didnt even have a facebook. so who are you to say anything about him being up to no good. it dont matter if all the passengers were up to no good at least they didnt get behind the wheel and take responsibility for 3 other lives. and i understand that this young man may feel regret and might for the rest of his life. but he should have thought twice before getting behind that wheel. and i wish my dear sweet friend had thought twice before getting in that back seat. i loved Matthew with all my heart. and he has been horribly ripped out of everyones life because of someones irresponsibility.
The passengers in the car did not have to get in the car, they are not children. The passengers in the car could have put their seat belts on and one of them would not have been thrown from the car, which may have been the reason they died. The hardest thing to do is to admit that some of our friends or family's have a problem, but the two that were left behind need someone to admit this and help them. I have been reading Evan's mom's facebook page, I know her and know she is a fine person, but she knows he has alot ahead for him. We can only raise our children up to a point, and be there for them when they mess up, I think she will be there and help him get the help he needs. Austin may feel guilt and remorse, but this is not the time to rescue him again.....it has to stop at some point. The other two, although they are gone, were not innocent. They were out having a good time and it went terribly wrong, only those 4 really know what happened.
well there ya have it... Arrest Made In Connection with Late Night Accident
ZEBULON - On Friday, November 18, 2011, Austin Callaway Ingram was arrested by the Pike County Sheriff's Office on the following charges: two counts of Vehicular Homicide in the 1st Degree, DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Too Fast for Conditions, and Serious Injury by Vehicle.
Ingram was the drive in a one vehicle accident at Chapel Hill Road and Melville Brown Road this past weekend which resulted in two fatalities and one being life-flighted to an Atlanta hospital.
yall really!!!! These people are gone now why keep talking about them? It makes no sense!!! What Austin put on his face book is a line out of a lil Wayne (rap artist) song!! Really I mean do you think he knew this was going to happen? And are you stalked or what get off of all of their pages???
First and foremost I would just like to say that I have known Matt since 1995 and he was really a great person regardless of the mistakes he has made in his past. I went to school with Suzie and she too was a very sweet person who always brought a smile to the face of others. I am just sitting here wondering how people can say the things they have said> I understand that there is freedom of speech but did any of you peoples parents teach you respect..? Or teach you that if you can't say nothing nice don't say nothing at all. My family too has been through this same tragedy. We lost someone very close to us. He was a husband, a best friend and a father of 7 children the youngest being only 3 years old. I know what these families are going through for the simple fact that my family has been through it and you people don't know what all these ugly post will do to these families. When my father was killed, the other party got on here and slandered my family and we were just the victims. They made comments that we were racist and that we just wanted to see the guy put in jail. Yes I live with a lot of hate in my heart for what happened but can we live with hate the rest of our lives..? It will only eat at us and makes us lesser of a person. I wish ya'll would just sit back and before posting cruel comments just think would Matt and Suzie want ya'll down grading their friend/friends for the dumb decision they made..? These people were all adults and at the same time if the driver of this vehicle was drinking like everyone is assuming then he should NOT have been driving but at the same time NO ONE twisted any arms of the others and made them get in a car with someone who was driving under the influence. Please people just keep your ugly comments to yourself. This article brings back so many memories to me of the ugly things that were said about my innocent family when our father was killed because of the bad decision someone else made. Matt and Suzie would not want this. That is not the kind of people they were. May God Bless the families of Matt and Suzie. They both have great parents and you people should be ashamed.
i think that you are wrong on that one.. the one that was thrown from the car was the driver.. that is why he lived. or did he bail from it as it started to crash?? seat belt or not i dont think they would have lived thru that. i have children and i can only pray to god that i dont have to go thru this sort of thing with my kids. i dont believe i could take it. God please be with Matt and Suzie's families. and Please keep your hands on Evan. I hope he makes a full recovery.
I am glad they arrested him all the others may have been too scared to drive in the condition that they were in (if they were all drinking) and had he not gotten behind the wheel none of this would have happened. maybe next time (since he is the only one that got out okay and is the only one certain of the chance to have a next time) he will think twice before being so stupid.
You all act as if this is the first time any of these people drank or got into a car after drinking. It's like speeding, we keep doing it and one day we get caught. What happened is bad, terrible and the family's are in a mess with emotions right now. Parents know what their children do, at their ages they had no control anymore.....they are just there to pick up the pieces. You all need to get real.
i didnt say anything about it being the parents fault you idiot. i said it was austins fault. sure they may have all been drinking but nobody made him drive that car. It was his choice. sure it was matt and suzie's choice to get in the car but they could have sat in the car all night long and lived if austin had not gotten behind that wheel and drove it. i lost a very good friend because austin killed them. and that is just that.
It seems as if the first paragraph covers that question......oh bright one.
"If-by-whiskey refers to a 1952 speech by Noah S. "Soggy" Sweat, Jr., a young lawmaker from the U.S. state of Mississippi, on the subject of whether Mississippi should continue to prohibit (which it did until 1966) or finally legalize alcoholic beverages."
I live in Pike county, I love living in Pike county, I am not from here originally but have been here since 1991, reading remarks in this paper gives me the impression that most people from a small place like Zebulon, love to be seen & heard, even if what they do & say, makes them look & sound rediculous, you idiots with your insincere remarks, why dont u just give your condolences to theses families, & then go stick your heads in the sand, or keep your mouths shut & wonder why u have NO friends

....SCARIED TO DRIVE????WHAT KIND OF LUDACRIS COMMENT IS THAT? SOME PEOPLE SHOULDN'T FEEL THEY CAN VOICE STUPID COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
You lost a friend because THEY made a choice to get in the car with someone who was drinking. Get it straight! Think about that the next time you act like a fool in the car or get in the car with someone acting like a fool...and don't say you would never do it because as I had a bad day on Saturday and left my house in anger I acted like a fool in my car and I am almost 50, so yea, we all do it, now think about that for a while, and I am not an idiot. You do not like the truth!
This is not a paper and if we all loved to be seen and heard, we would not be posting anonymous and would include our picture. We are making a point and it continues to be overlooked. You did not have to comment, but you did.
It was not only Austin's fault. All of them made the decision to get into the car. It just so happened that austin was driving. It could have been anyone. Every one with negative comments on this page are all hipicrits. You have all made bad decisions whether you want to admit it or not. Get over yourself. As for a comment at the beginning, Austin's mom is the judge, but what austin does in not her fault. Austin's dad is not even the mayor of molena? So get over yourself and worry about your own business. As to the families who lost a loved one, I am so sorry and have been praying that you find peace.
After reading these comments, I am ashamed to be from pike county. Everyone needs to stop with this nonsense. Pray for the families involved and the 2 surviving. It is going to be a long road to recovery for all.
As a young person I feel immense sorrow for everyone involved. Let us all learn from this tragedy. My prayers and thoughts go out to everyone involved. (remember god wants you to pray for everyone, not just the sinless) (and he without sin can cast the first stone) so i guess everyone should stop with the negativity and pray.

My condolences to the families during this heartbreaking time. May God comfort you.
Another death a short while back on Chapel Hill, was a BAC test administered on that accident?
Both cases involve high profiles.
Is there anyone who can tell us why none are ever noted? Always it is made public except in the judge's and paralegals families.
FOUL!
Time is here to quit the, I know somebody that knows somebody.
We are all somebody that would just expect straight answers from elected officials.
So sorry for the families and their loss.
As for the comments about Austin ~~ Make sure you have the facts before trying to slander someone. No one is trying to cover up for him or anyone else. The truth will soon come out!
A stupid comment deserves a rediculous response.
That's Pike County and I love the dirt rds. Nobody living on a dirt rd bougt the house cause of a paved rd.
Has there been any updates as to the cause of the accident or even the condition of the the guy that was airlifted?
My heart breaks for the families and friends of Matt and Suzie. R.I.P Karo!
Father is Mayor of Molena.
Do you know what the Sheriff does?
Since you make that claim, then put your name out there for us to pick you and your family apart, because according to you, it IS eventually our business, right?
Let's see how you and yours stand up to the scruitny you think is fair to subject others to.
Even more strange.....they take time to answer a person named Anonymous.
Wow!
Was Vega already spoken for?
J.S.
You did just compromise !!!
And stay off Wikipedia and Google for your postings, These foolish people on here will think you come up with your stupid crap all on your own.
IN GOD WE TRUST
my condolences to the families who have lost their dearest possession. the loss of a child is unbearable.
i think an article should be submitted to the paper and then published on this site to discuss why certain members of our society get a pass on obeying the law of the land. here are a few that should be discussed:
- children of judges, police officers and others who are politically affiliated
- occupy wall street
- recipients of welfare, ebt, snap and the 100's of other programs that we disguise in order to obfuscate the real meaning (handout)
- politicians
there needs to be a country-wide discussion of these matters.
but please, let's stop discussing it here. the people who have lost loved ones already have to endure what no one should have to endure.
thank you.
I pray that each of these families find comfort, and peace with the current situation. Many of us are praying for you. And ALL of us that KNEW these individuals will CHERISH the memories we shared together.
