The Lamar County Trojans come to Zebulon Friday to take on the Pike Pirates. Lamar (5-0, 3-0) is undefeated. Pike (4-1, 3-0) has one non-region loss.

There is no shortage of bad blood between the two county line rivals. Who will win? Let the smack talk begin!

Have not had a chance to see the creek lizards play yet but Lamar has a chance to be really good (2nd - 3rd round of playoffs) if they could learn to put opponents away, none of their wins should have been close. Lamar should win if they don't make a ton of mistakes. I just don't see Pike having the talent or athletes of Putnam or Morgan. Hoping for a great, injury free game.

LET THE SMACK TALK BEGIN. WTF is that? Shouldn't it read let the Talking Smack begin. And i don't remember that being that big of a rivalry game when I played which was just back in the late 90's. I mean neither one of us were that good.

pike has no explosive weapons on offense or defense to compare against lamar county's Austin twins, Antwan Wallace, Tevin Childs, or the other playmaking runningbacks. the pirates just seem really sluggish this year, almost lazy, with no real stars.

we have a cannon we shoot every time we score. your going to be hearing a lot of explosive weapons on saturday night. i think the cannon barrel will be glowing red before the nights out.

They always seem sluggish. They will be bigger than us, but we are faster. I think we will break 400 yards on the ground.

I'd get off that ship before Friday, because we will be sinkin' it come 7:30.

To bad the only time it will fire is when the Pirates run through the team banner,because for the rest of the night they will be scoreless :( for Pike but :) for Lamar!!!!
