A local tribute to fallen officer Richard "Rick" Daly will be held at Moody Funeral Home this afternoon. The DOT expects to close Highway 19 near the funeral home to handle the 750 or more vehicles in the funeral procession.

One article said that one shot was below his vest....sad...sad...sad!

Yes ! The bulit struck his side just above the vest and struck a main attery at his heart,

Where was his back up, if he was called to assist ? How quick did anyone get to him ? No one is trying to blame anyone just questions that needto be answered.

The bullet entered his side, just below the vest, and struck his aorta. A torn aorta isn't something that can be helped by paramedics. A skilled surgeon is required. There just wouldn't have been enough time to get him the kind of help he needed before he died. The only blame here can be assigned to the assailant.

His backup was sitting in the car. He didn't even bother to get out of the car. His backup officer he was riding with was also asian.
