BY CHARLOTTE KIRKLAND
If the walls of the Hollonville Opry House could talk what stories they could tell. Walls can’t talk but people can and they have. The musicians who have performed on the Opry House stage and the fun-loving, music-appreciative fans tell of the good times.
Pictured (l-r), Larry Lawrence, Ken Jones, Jimmy and Houston Hatchett, Lynwood Lynch (on ladder), an unidentified worker, Jack Martin, an unidentified worker and Harold Kirkland take a break during the second big work day on the Hollonville Opry House on May 18, 1991. All during that spring, volunteers worked to turn an old seed barn into what is now one of Pike County’s premiere music venues. It is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.

it sure was sad - he was my uncle and i love and miss him so much! it was a nice surprise to pull up the paper today and see his face. I spent many weekend nights at the Opry House when I was a little girl - good times!

One of the unidentified men in the Hollonville Picture is Harold Kirkland. Harold is standing on the ground with his foot on porch.

Thanks to all the people in the beginning that worked so hard to make the Hollonville Opry such a success. I have loved it for most of those 20 years.

It's hiliarious that Kirkland's wife is published as the author, but her husband was originally listed & printed as an unidentified worker in the photo!
