Pike County volunteer firefighter Brian Michel was recently named the American Legion Firefighter of the Year for the entire United States and for the state of Georgia. He is captain of Station 3 in Lifsey Springs, serves full-time for Griffin Fire Rescue and recently earned his National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
great firefighter, not only from our great state of georgia but from pikes own fire hero department. and thanks to another georgia grown hero by the name of jimmy carter that the funds for EMA were made available to make pike safer. some say we should thank obama because he is in office now but ol jimmy is the one that put the plan in action back in 1979.
What?...what's that I hear??..It's Firebug seething. Come on Firebug, quit groaning and complaining about Capt. Brian. He deserves the honor. He is a hard worker and is very SMART. See, your antics didn't get recognized. Come on back with your not-so-witty-reply.
Jimmy B, it is cheaper to have fireboys like Firebug who have aggrandized self-accolades instead of first rate credential toters like our real firefighter Capt. Brian. It is cheaper, but, not practical. We need MORE of the Brian Michel type experienced firefighter and less of the neer-do-well accolade type who are great at washing and waxing mobile assets.
You go, Cap'n!
Mr. Geiger & Company, why do you feel it necessary to arbitrarily exclude intelligent, informative, and educational postings? I agree with moderation prior to posting but, lately you all have become anti 1st amendment. Will you elaborate?
