My how you are so negative toward that child. Maybe he is smart enough to ignore the so-called Christian with her nose turned up and realize how rich the doctor is getting off medicade. I am surprised the kid even knew what a checkbook is in this day and age. I wonder what the kid thinks is better? Being a rich doctor thanks to medicare or a judgemental Christian who has to write a check because they cant afford dental insurance. I know you and FBT like to whine about government spending but if you made the right choices in life you would be getting rich off it like so many others. My family is extremely well off thanks to government spending. I dont have medicaid personally but the doctors i go to love it. People on medicaid return more often because it is free which is one reason doctors like it. People with private health insurance are second best for revenue. And the uninsured like laura and her checkbook are in third place. Being uninsured they are the least likely to get check ups frequently. They mostly just show up when issues present themselves. Leave medicaide alone, if my doctor no longer gets it he might have to sell his beach house on st. simmons island. I want to make sure he gets plenty of R&R before he operates on me next time. but who can be jealous when they have their own deer stand.

Laura, be sure and ask if the doctor or dentist gives a discount for cash. This has saved me lots of bucks.

nice to see one with such common sense. if paying cash on the spot you can usually get a better deal being no billing is involved. saves them a lot of paperwork. cash save your doctor lots of bucks also.

get rid of the nose ring, nostril stud and pants, and get a job. once you get that job your employer will give you another 100 rules to follow to make you one of americas "free citizens". take my advice and concentrate on continued education and and getting rich. if you have no luck that "job" will always be there. if you succeed i will put you on my list of heros whom retired before their hair turned gray. let the founder of FACEBOOK be an inspiration to you that the sky is the limit. if you read all this whining about government spending it should also be sending you a message. the goverment spends boat loads of money every year. it is a no brainer to start a business that profits from this. it could be anything from a doctor, food store that accepts EBT, and many others. daddy and son bush figured out how to make the government work for them as did the kennedys, and our own sonny purdue robbed georgia blind with his land deals. my family has not become as successful as that bunch but did pretty darn well. think big. geigers mentality is not so uncommon. people like him elect people into office that take millions from the government and cry about those who take thousands trying to feed and keep their children healthy.

I refuse to pay cash and am sick of the co-pays when I am paying 400+ for private health insurance each month. My premiums continue to increase (for the past decade) while insurance companies continue to rake in record breaking profits. I am one serious illness away from bankruptcy as are most Americans.
WE NEED HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM!

Say what you want. I get a food stamp card, Medicaid, unemployment and work under the table. All that and my family is still hungry and sweating to death in this heat. That poster was right when the called you out as being judgemental. Sorry we all do not have the luxury of walking aound with a checkbook making us feel superior to others. It sure would be nice if they would raise the minimum wage so more people could have access to one of them check books. Thing me and my husband find funny is the ones that complain about people getting assistance seem to be the same as those who are against raising the minimum wage. Quit supporting Wal-Mart and start helping the family man. At least until i can afford to get my house as cool as their stores.

I think all he's trying to say here is that people need to quit relying on the government so much and quit being lazy. He's telling the youth of America that they are better than that! They can make a change! Now, in the author's post, he clearly states that he is not talking about the "real poor people" ( you know, the people that actually need government assistance). He is telling the youth that they don't have to follow in their parents footsteps. They can become something more than a leach and rape the system and the REAL hard workers and REAL tax payers of their HARD EARNED money. I know plenty of people that lie, just so they can get government assistance. They don't even get in trouble when the government finds out- true story (they play the race card. DFCS loves blacks in Gtown, probably because most of them are working for DFCS. So ironic. Not saying that all blacks drain our tax money. That would be racist- and that's something that I'm not). Then, you have my parents that REALLY need it and are barely above the limit so they can't. My little sister can't even get the medical attention she needs. As for me, yeah, I received WIC for both of my children. Did I need it? Probably not. It was just something that I was taught and I didn't realize that it was taking other people's money (seriously, I was THAT stupid). I was young and impressionable and it's what everyone else was doing. Now that I realize it was wrong, I don't think I would have done it. Did I lie to meet the requirements, no. I just think I could've made it without getting free milk and food. I think working hard and earning what you have, brings a sense of being proud and feeling good about yourself. I wish the youth of America all the happiness and hope that they work hard for what they deserve. Good luck to all the Graduates and God bless you as your life changes for the better!

If you had got some skills before you quit school and started reproducing you might be able to have a decent job that pays more than minimum wage. Because you dropped out and decided to try and live off everyone else does not mean those of us with real jobs and check books owe you air conditioning. Hope you are sitting at home in front of your basic cable and sweating your lazy butt off.

you get real..you are one serious illness away from bankrupsy and the welfare line. Best keep the judging to someone in a position to do so or one day you may be eating crow and "sweating your lazy but off".

I have private health insurance but I know those greedy jerks would throw me under the bus if I got cancer, just to save a buck. Dont be so cocky and think you will always have it good. Be a little more grateful for what you have because the world owes you nothing. There are people that work 80 hours a week in parts of the world..are they paid according to their hard work? No. Be glad you are in America where hard work sometimes pays off.

Im sure as heck not going to let a politician tell me what I need, nor will I believe what they tell me..Republican or Democrat. I will wait and see about this "Obamacare".

What I do know is that the U.S. ranks 37th among developed countries as far has healthcare goes. If people are unhappy about Obamacare, something should have been done by now. Tired of paying taxes for useless politicians as much as I am tired of paying 400+ a month for health insurance that can be dropped as soon as I develop an illness that cuts into Blue Cross profits.

There is a problem with a private health insurance system that puts profits over patient care without any oversight. If I am forced to buy this insurance, it better work for me. This is America, not some 3rd world nation. If we can put people on the moon, then our capitalist system can find a way to fix healthcare. Problem is, no one wants to change it. Insurance companies are rich..and after all, getting rich is what America is all about :/

WOW! I thought nobody blogged on here but snob nosed christian white folk. I was permantly injured in a motor vehicle accident years back and just recently was awarded my disability. I depended on the government for help during that time. In that time nobody seemed to be handing out much. Actually it took an act of congress and two years to be awarded my SSDI. Even maxing out everything one can from the government it still took the support of friends and family to make it. If people can not make it on minimum wage, how the heck are you going hate on a family that is working with less money than that? The system saved the farm. And peachcare kept my sons teeth healthy. Private insurance companies take advantage of the system also by forcing people to go on welfare while they turn down legit claims. Republicans seem to support these big stores with their minimun wage pay. Eepublicans are so ass backwards they probably support these big insurance carriers also who force folks to use the system.

#37? I thought America was the greatest country in the world? Yeah right! I have no problem with the health care system. I can not afford it so its free. Republicans support all the rich companies who take advantage of this country. Democrats support the working man. Good job though republicans. The only republicans I like are the CEO's of all the big companies that are supported by their own party. With their multimillion dollar a year salaries they dont whine about little kids getting their teeth fixed. They dont whine but the people that support them do! That tickles me. If I was republican I would feel like I was getting screwed by both parties. Because after all, I would be!

This so Called Republican County has shocked me.
If your the working stiff your already paying for socialized medicine you just aint getting it.
Under 44 grand you get some peach care....Over 65 you get the medicare,Hurt on disability get medicaid. Work hard everyday barely get have food...heck your doing great you dont need health care for you and your family.
Bush started the medicare part D. Obama wants to put you in jail if you dont buy insurance for yourself.
Let me tell you about Obomacare...Its not socialized medicine it is paying premiums to insurance companies,just like part D, thats why you dont hear insurance companies screaming...They are the big winners.
Just remember when its not about money....its about money
