I just got home from the Memorial service on the square and my heart is still two sizes to large. This was the most moving, respectful, and heart felt service that I have been to in a long time. It really struck home to me that this, the small towns dotted all across this great country are the glue that holds this country together and makes us what we are. Because we are the ones that send our youth, at the prime of their life, to defend this freedom that we so often take for granted. There is no greater sacrifice that a man or woman can make than to give up their time on this Earth, their happiness and love for life, and most of all their own future for us, complete strangers that they will never meet or know. That alone just humbles me to tears, that we had so many people around us that made that choice.I bow my head in humility and thankfulness for these great people and I hope that some time, some where, some how,I am able to do something for my fellow man that will make their sacrifice not to be in vain.God Bless America, And all the ones in Pike Co. that have made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
