Defense attorneys request location change, hearing aid

Defense attorneys requested a change of location for the death penalty trial of Jamie Weis due to courthouse issues at a Feb. 24 motions hearing. Jurors for the murder trial are expected to be drawn sometime in June.

Too bad our county will get stuck with paying for a hearing aid to the tune of several thousand dollars for this old codger.

I said it before. I'll say it again.

He was able to see and hear well enough to kill a man. He can see and hear well enough to stand trial for it.

Get in the game DEFENSE Attorney.... Check with your Insurance company about this hearing aid being a medical necessity. I had a son born with a hearing loss and Blue Cross told us that they would not pay anything on hearing aids because it was not medically necessary that he hear. The guy killed someone, did he respect the victim''s rights before he killed him???? Hell no. For all you know the blast from the gun effected his hearing. Defense Attorney I think you are pushing to far hear and expect the county to back you up. If you want him to hear then YOU pay for them or get him a $14.95 amplifer that can be bought at Wal-Mart for hunters.

What makes Jerk Jamie better than any other murderer who has been tried in the Zebulon courthouse? This BS is totally ridiculous. ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! He has cost the taxpayers enough already. Even if he gets the death penalty, which he totally deserves, we will feed him for ten more years. QUIT LISTENING TO THE BS JUDGE. Get the trial going on the idiot or let him go and tell Catherine's family which door he will be using as an EXIT!!!

And as far as this other murderer goes? His vision was good enough to commit murder...now it can work to his advantage...maybe he will not see the needle coming.

That was very disrespectful. These people have family members reading these comments, as I am one of them. I will agree that was Adrian did was wrong and he is serving his time. I have one question for you, would you rather him be locked up or would you like for the law to let him roam free and put others 'at risk'? Another thing, he did have trouble with his sight and hearing before he committed this crime. Get you're facts straight before you try to tell a story.

My respect goes to the family of the victims. Any family member who reads blogs and then gets ticked off when defending a murderer is "mentally unbalanced." Does he need for the taxpayers to but him Viagra also? So after we correct his hearing problem, we need to give him another mental evaluation? If you want sympathy "go to a family reunion" don't come to the blog of a murderer for it.

So you, as a family member, are saying that if he is found Not Guilty, he would still be a risk to others.

A family member should know.

I will pay for his cosmetic surgery if they insist on keeping that picture posted.

Unfortunately, the expenses to the taxpayers for Jamie Weiss' trial will most likely not end with his conviction. Judge Hankinson has a high rate of trials overturned by the higher courts. He was appointed by his college-roommate governor-friend and sadly the people who don't know any better keep re-electing him to a job he still hasn't figured out how to do properly. He had no criminal experience coming into his job and still doesn't seem to have a clue. He will bungle this trial like so many others, and the taxpayers can pay once again. Sad but true.

I wonder what its like to be you. Such a compassionate person. (did you hear the sarcasm) Did you not get enough hugs when you were a child? I wonder what its like to be you. You seem to have the answer for everyone elses "stupidity". Too bad you don't have an answer to your own insensitivity towards others. Which is the reason I am posting this response. It is everyone's right to read a blog and post about it regardless of whether they are family or not. But must you insult other writers who don't agree with your almighty opinion? Maybe it's time to take a look at your own "mentally unstable" brain before you start remarking on others. Is it really necassary to insult other writers. Ivy wasn't rude to you, but you made it a point to be extremely rude to her. If you read her comment again she wasn't defending a murderer. She clearly states he was wrong and is serving his time as deserved. I'm sure what prompted her message to you was your comment about the needle. That was completely uncalled for. Must you really add insult to injury Ms. Tolley? Do you not realize that familes of criminals are real people who have beating hearts and blood running through their veins? This makes them just as much human as the familes of the victims. Their pain is not the same and they suffer in different ways. Your insensitivity and other writers that follow suit clearly need to belittle others to feel superior and that, Ms. Tolley, is a sad truth. I hope that you and all the other insensitive writers never have to endure the brunt of the hateful comments that you have inflicted on others.

Ms. Tolley, I'm not going to 'get' anyone for making a lame attempt at a joke or for speaking their opinion. However, like I stated before, you should have your facts straight. You do not know every detail of everything that happens. As for the 'cosmetic surgery' comment, I'm sure you are not Miss America potential either. So come off it. Adrian Thompson ("the other murderer") has had hearing and sight problems for several years, especially after being run over by a tractor. And don't dare say he deserved it, because he didn't. No one deserves to be hurt, however some deserve to be punished. Which is what is happening now.
