Sheriff’s officials are warning citizens of a Canadian check scam that has been reported in the area. Spalding County Sheriff Dee Stewart is warning everyone who receives any mail from Canada that contains a letter and check from Sun Life Trust or Sun Life Financial Trust that it is part of a scam.
With all the dope in that cesspool you call Spalding County I am glad you still have time to tend to other issues such as this check scam. Personally, If someone is stupid enough to cash one of these checks they should go right ahead and do it. It would be a good learning experience for them. I do realize though that people with the sense of reasoning to believe this check is real are the same folks that would have had the sense to vote for you. So I think how its a great thing how you are doing the right thing by looking out for your easily "scammed" supporters.
DO NOT cash any check in the mail that tells you to keep a certain amount and send the rest to another address, regardless of how legit the check looks. That includes checks from secret shopper, foreign lotterys and any other checks. They are all scams and if you do cash them YOU can and will be held responsible by the bank for the money. So people need to quit being so greedy and trying to get something for nothing.
