More than 130 members of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and guests gathered at Barnstormer’s Grill Thursday, Dec. 2, to honor recipients of various community awards.
“It’s always a good thing to recognize our members and the things they are doing in the community,” said chamber president Karen Brown. “It’s just a good time for us to reflect on the year, what we’ve accomplished and what we can accomplish next year.”

President of Boys and Girls Club board Harvey Booker and members of the board Bob Hinkle, John Hanson and Edd Sanders stand with former Chamber chairman David Duncan as Boys and Girls Club director Rufus Clemmons and board members Charles Burden and Eddie Parks accept the Organization of the Year award.

I am glad to see Mr. Bailey get volunteer of the year award. It was twice as sweet to see Chief Henderson not get it. Hince the word "volunteer" not "paid volunteer."
