A rabid fox was killed at a home on Mud Bridge Road on Oct. 29. The home is less than a mile from the Pike County line.

Just a reminder to have all your animals vaccinated against rabies. Dogs,cats, & horses any warm blooded animal is at risk. The vaccination fee is cheap compared to having to go through the treatment for exposure

Just read the full article. Funny on Saturday rumors were flying that the inident happened in Pike County and the Sheriff's office refused to send anyone out while the Fox was still alive.

Funny How some people are so quick to blame Our Sheriffs Dept. and Fire Dept for every percieved problem.

Not the article plainly states it happened in Upson County.

Also if you shoot an animal that you believe *may* be rabid. Be very careful how you handle the remains. Do wear gloves. Any contact with brain matter, or other body fluids is putting yourself at risk. Locally we have rabies clinics at least 2 times per year.
