Election Day is over and the unofficial results have been announced. Early votes that were cast at the courthouse have been tallied. The Zebulon, Concord, Lifsey Springs, Meansville, Molena, Second District, Hollonville and Williamson precincts have been announced. A turn out of 56% of voters made it to the polls. Final results will be announced Friday once 6 provisional ballots and military ballots have been tallied.

Willis blew it the last week before election. How could he vote to return JC Morrison to the Planning Board? It cost him big time. Mangham and Powers will follow Willis.

David was the only person running for office that blogs. Maybe if he wants people to take him seriously as a politician he will stop blogging and agreeing with everything you say. Maybe he will stop calling people names and actually be constructive. Maybe he will take losing graciously instead of saying "hope u like your taxes being raised". Maybe he can show up at some events a prove that he is not a know it all jerk. Maybe, but probably not, but Sheila if you want David to get elected maybe u should stop putting his name in your blogs because that probably hurts his chances also. Do u even live in Pike Sheila? If u do not stop hurting David's chances.

What this world needs desperately , especially now, is HONESTY and FEEDBACK from our elected officials. David is not afraid to blog because his opinion will not sway with the wind. He needs to be in The Commissioners Office. I think there should be an open forum in the paper and the elected officials should be required to answer the questions of the voters. Some do but they sign on as anonymous. They are afraid "uncommitted people" like you may get upset with them. If you do not appreciate honesty, intelligence, commitment and answers, you would obviously vote against David. That shows what you are made of. And to answer your last question, I live everywhere I own land. If we had David's strength and streak of stubbornness in all our officials, the wishy-washy, one sneaky hand washes the other, crooked political shenanigans would eventually diminish.

I hope people who think like you never vote for David. Your kind is allergic to honesty and need political favors.

By the way, David has disagreed with me several times on my opinions. You must be a part time blogger, not a professional like me.

David, it is unfortunate that you didn't win the seat.

I'm offering you some unsolicited free advice which you can utilize if you run for Pike County commissioner.

1. Make your signs larger. Your recent campaign signs had print much too small to be read from further than 20 feet away. Impossible to read your signs from a passing automobile. Fewer words. BIG PRINT.

2. Take Donna Jo up on her offer to put a bunch of signs up next to her fences on Hwy 18 and down Chapman Rd. Position them like the old Burma Shave signs. Lots of exposure around that area.

3. Keep blogging your opinions. Some are pretty good. Especially when you pi** off the obamaites.

4. Make Sheila Tolley your manager and you are a definite shoo-in.

1 - I agree. It's hard to tell what something will look like when you are making it on a computer to send to a printer. Lesson Learned.

2 - Donna has been a long time friend of mine (since childhood) and offered to let me put signs on her property. Next time I will definitely take her up on it.

3 - I will admit with humility that I sometimes say things on blogs that should not have been said. I let some people get too me when I shouldn't. I'm human. Welcome to the world. Being honest and blunt are apparently bad traits for politicians. It's a shame isn't it?

4 - Sheila and I don't always agree and she certainly p's off a few people; but, you have to admire her courage and honesty.

I personally saw the files, there was no pron but photos of beautiful local grown talent. There were no 'shades" about it, only two people deep into a research and development project. The BOC and one member of the BOE met and spent the day going through the material. They submized something must be done when they recognized most of the faces. 94.1% of the ladies were local and it is obvious from the background in the photos they were taken in rm 124 Comfort Inn of Jonesboro. You are correct about the "whistle blower" of Pike. She was very upset that she did not meet the high standards of beauty required for a photo shoot and she was not local, after all she was no Jane Russell. Mickle and Beckers research and development project was a worthy cause. George we miss you and your camera. Always........DHoP

Bake cookies today, drive the kiddies to Tiny Tots, SUV to soccer practice, feed the donkeys on the Hobby Farm, prayer service Wednesday night, PTA meetings, fund raisers and thump the bible on Sunday. Now it's my quality time to unwind with makeup, nylons, bottle of fine wine, charge the camera and head to rm 124.
