Fireman terminated for filming body of accident victim
Spalding County has terminated the employment of a firefighter who allegedly videotaped the body of a traffic accident victim and then shared the video with his drinking buddies at a bar.
I am sure the Holier then everyone else like S T will come on here spewing their stuff.
The guy made a bad mistake and he has lost his job and many have learned from this and will learn from this.
Not suprised but suprised at a few of the responses on the posts about this subject last week.
Was it Wrong? Yes W
Was it a bad mistake" YES
Has he been punished by his work? Yes he was fired
And of course there will be potential legal actions now this is why the FD is trying to seperate theirselves from him.
But here come the responses from the Bandwagon Jumpers and the hey I have a serious problem so I will post away on my keyboard junk.
He is fighting his termination which shows more poor judgment and a lack of character. Does he really believe that he can effectively serve the community after this? It's time for him to hang his head, ask for forgiveness, and move on down the road.
Will that happen? NOT LIKELY.
There are bad apples in every profession and it's a shame this one continues to ooze on the good ones.

Why haven't we had any type of news on our county fire department recently? We have put out several fires, went to a few wrecks and even done some training. Why haven't we had any PJR time? Is it because our chief (lol) has refused to keep you and the PRJ outside the loop? We would like to know. If you keep silent I guess the rumors are true.

How ever this being a accident, (Her Family, Blood Kin!) should have to sign legally for it to be shown for educational or other purposes.
People slow to look at accidents. Blood & gore are in movies, and some people have served in the armed forces and they take pictures of unspeakable things. They are desensitized to it.
It doesn't mean anything to them other than I or we got him! I or we survived!
The difference here is this person belonged to them. They didn't give permission for their daughters pictures to be shown for any reason other than investigation purposes.
She was a mother, wife, & daughter.
Grieving is hard enough without a reminder showing up when you least expect it. They shouldn't have to worry about her children seeing the pictures 10 years from now.
