A Novel Experience in downtown Zebulon will be the Oct. 16 stop on the statewide The Unchained Tour. Nationally renowned artists and performers are visiting ‘unchained’ independent bookstores across the state for The Moth Storytelling Network on National Public Radio.

Hope they put a new motor in that thing, among other things. They sure will keep the DOT busy when they see that thing coming down the road.

I cannot support the Unchained Tour. Also I think it is wrong for a business to serve wine to book browsers while they shop. The experience on the square should not consider themselves above the law by doing so, their business is book sales not alcohol.

Why do you ask? Does this group "claim" to uphold some religious belief? I did not see it in the article, but I might not be as bright as you. I have no problem if people have a store that is only open on Saturday. But when someone wants to state that they are a Christian and not follow the simple teachings of the Christian religion (as it is written), you are looking at a man that thinks he is defrauding God. Can you imagine. Where in the Bible does it state no story telling on the Sabbath? Also which Commandment? Your knowledge is certainly welcome.

I already responded to your reply without reading the article well. I might see why you think they are some of them self proclaimed Christians. I overlooked the word "performers". With all the "performers" at the Baptist church in Zebulon, whats so interesting about more story telling around the corner. Zebulon has enough "performers" already.

And what does Saturday have to do with this group? Are they claiming to be of a religion that worships the Sabbath? I am not against the world for not worshiping the Sabbath. Just fake religious groups that show their true colors on the day of rest.

Dont let them fool you like these local churches. What do they all have in common? To make money! All of them are in business to make money. And they will do anything to raise revenues. Go up on the square, have you a couple of drinks, and see what it leads to. If you have a wife and it causes issues, I have the perfect line. Tell her you have had a revelation and are now living by grace. And grace alone! You got me thinking. Are they serving liquor when they are "book browsing" at church in these parts. It sure as heck would explain a lot.

All of these comments just go to show how backward you people are. DID YOU READ THE ARTICLE?? What an honor for this bookstore to be chosen as one of the stores to be visited, filmed and recorded. However, if I were the owner, I would be very anxious about being embarrassed by this community on the day of the event. This county (as represented by this paper, anyway) continually lives up to its reputation as having no class and no (real) education. When you drive through Zebulon, the only thing that catches one's eye as having any class about it is this book store. You people should be thankful for Ms Curry for all she has done for Zebulon.

The people of a town can only be as smart as their leaders. I went to visit a friend last night who lives on Coni Lane in Zebulon. As I was turning into the subdivision a new street sign caught my attention. "Connie Lane" it states. When I got to my partners house I asked him if the city has renamed the street. He said the name of the street has been "Coni Lane" for over 20 years. He said the people that work for the city are not required to know how to spell. We do see this as a concern on a 911 call. They renumber all the houses to make 911 response faster. And now they are going to unofficially rename streets to slow it down. Pike County doesnt need a book store up in town. It is too high class for us. And it requires the knowledge of reading and spelling words. I think it needs to be turned into a pool room. But now I know why Pike county roads will not pull up on my gps. They are all spelled wrong.

I think you should keep stealing that street sign until they replace it with one that is spelled right. It would be in the towns better interest.
