I will be there with my JC's Famous Firehouse Cornbread and biscuits. Both favorites of our Pike Fire Chief. I will be available for photographs and autographs. Please join us. Check out my new hairdo and apron.
I am sure that every reader has heard of my famous brew. Since that segment on Sixty Minutes, I cannot keep the masses of people away. My brew was tested by Jamie Oliver (aka The Naked Chef), Gordon Ramsey (from Hell's Kitchen), Rachael Ray (the food network queen) and Jacques Pepin (famed French chef). They all reached the same conclusion. It is the aphrodisiac quality that makes my brew so special. It must be the yohimbe, tribulus, and maca that I toss in at the end of cooking. I didn't take these silly chefs serious. BUT when I got a repeat order from Rosie O'Donnell and The Village People, I knew it was a special blend.
Are you the Mayor of Meansville? Do you represent everyone in Meansville? Are all Meansvilleites REDNECKS like you?
Are the people really Mean? Are there street signs? Are there restrooms?
Are you sure Sheila Tolley will be there? Meansville is a very lucky wide-spot in the road if Ms. Tolley graces your burg with her presence.
I will drive over and seek her out for an autograph and a drink!

no she is in no way affiliated with Meansville. This is a lovely little town with a post office, walking track, fire station and church in town. It is quiet and safe and a great location to anywhere in three counties you need to go. Come on down and see us!
She's the queen of The Dollar General, but she rules the Meansville kingdom
And her sceptre is a wine glass and a beer keg is her throne
And the jesters, they flock around her, and they fight to win her favours
And see which one will take the queen of The Dollar General home
She arrives in all her splendour at every fair at nine o'clock
And her chariot is a cross-town float that stops right down the block
The ol' piano minstrel plays a song as she rides in
And the queen of The Dollar General, she's home again
Her royal gown is a satin dress, that's stained and slightly torn
And her sparkling jewels are rhinestones, and her shoes are scuffed and worn
From the many roads she's travelled and the wonderous sights she's seen
And I watch her and I say, I love the queen
The queen of The Dollar General is not as haughty as she seems
She was once an ordinary girl with ordinary dreams
But I found her and I won her, and I taught her how to blog
And I'm the man who changed her choice of drink to grog
She's the queen of The Dollar General and The Meansville Day is over
She broke her sceptre wine glass and beer keg throne is gone
The jesters fall around her, too drunk to win her favours
To see which one will take the queen of The Dollar General home
She's the queen of the The Dollar General, and she rules the Blogging Kingdom.......
I motored over from Lamar County and mingled with all the 78 Meansville visitors (I counted) who seemed to be enjoying a very laid back affair.
I understood Sheila Tolley would be in attendance so I kept my eyes peeled for her. Soon, I realized I was the victim of blatant misinformation!
#4 RepresentingMeansville posted that Sheila Tolley would be there dispensing potent drinks. She wasn't! or I missed her!
At least I don't believe she attended. But then, I was looking for a loud cackling witch with a lap top computer and didn't find such. Since I didn't know Sheila's physical description, she could have been one of about 25 "mature" women sauntering about, I was not going to ask around for her.
Who knows who Sheila Tolley might have pist off and I wasn't armed.
The Meansville town sign advertised it was founded in 1898. I could be mistaken, but, I believe I saw a few of the original town founders attending the function. Modern medicine is a wonder and works miracles.
I talked with some nice folks there. The lady at the B & D Ceramics booth was very pleasant as well as the ladies selling the over priced Meansville shirt wear. The prize drawing was lacking, so, I didn't buy any tickets.
I couldn't participate in the cake walk since I would have been a solo walker with too many chairs. I would have run myself to death since all the chairs were empty due to lack of interest. Also, the 86 degree bright sunshine was not conducive to enhancing the cake frosting.
Looking forward to next year and meeting Sheila Tolley. Maybe she will be at the upcoming Yatesville 28th Chitlin Hoedown wearing a name tag so I can get her autograph. Be there!
Oh Holy One Pike Patriot Homeowner, this was the smallest turnout we have had. Do you think you might just take your JC's Famous Firehouse Cornbread and grease biscuits over to Danny's house and stay away from county events?
I am so sorry I missed you Skipper. I hired one of those illegal dark haired people to pull my float. I didn't know that all he had pulled before was a rickshaw. Well, that and some time. I was all decked out! I even velcroed myself to my beer keg so when I got tipsy I could not fall. I practiced my Miss America wave for months before this event. I had it down so good that I could wave and hold my wine glass at the same time without spilling a drink. How many officials did they need for crowd control? Last year statistics revealed they would need one half of an officer, but no one was willing to make the sacrifice, so they sent a whole cop. I intended to send my float puller packing, but he knows a good Sake blend to enhance my famous brew. I hope to see you at the next fair.
Yes the crowds were very low in Meansville this year.. do you think it could be because we didn't have our DJ???? that City Hall made mad?? I think so.. in any event the tent that Vega youth group had that was in front of the fire station with there BBQ was out of this world.. good job..
IN GOD WE TRUST
