Supreme Court denies appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Georgia Supreme Court's decision on Jamie Weis who has been in jail in Pike County for more than four years while the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council struggles to pay for defense attorneys to handle his case.

Wonderful news! Although the 4/3 decision is too close for comfort in my opinion. But indicative of today's lack of concern for the victims of murderers.

Its not a victory though. All he has to do is cooperate with his attorneys now. He still has the right to a speedy trial. If money halts him from getting it now, he can file another appeal. With him cooperating and money being the only issue, it looks like you might have a new member at your church soon!
