More than 100 tax bills that were mailed last week have an incorrect fire fee, charging some residents $150 instead of the correct $50 fee for their property.

Fire fee is a joke anyway. Keep it up and look deeper, I'm sure they can find some other joke to add to our property taxes - as if they aren't high enough as it is.

I am from Connecticut where they would raise taxes EVERY year. I will try to explain this the easiest way I know how. When they raise taxes your tax bill gets higher. In you case your taxes increased by $350. You people amuse me. $350 oh my?! Do you have to sell the farm now? If you do I have a good agent.

My parents live in Pike County, I was raised there. They live on social security. Why don't you give them the additionl $350 to help them out or even the fire fee of $50 makes a huge difference on a small income. Get outside the box Connecticut. Everybody doesn't have a silver spoon.

Taxes being raised are a fact of life. Why cry about it. One thing I don know is there is always some place cheaper to go. I know a lot of people who go to Alabama to avoid high taxes. I know when I go shopping everything keeps costing more and more. How is the city and county supposed to deal with the same problem with out more money. Pike County likes its bedroom community. With no real players in the game like WalMart where is the money going to come from? The people in the bedroom, where else? And as far as the spoon it was a hand me down made from stainless steel.

I had a run in with a deputy on the pike sheriff department. He was telling me that WalMart wanted to build here. I do not see why he would lie about something like that. But if they did want to build here do you think Pike would let them? Heck even my wife is against it. It would just save a lot on gas and tires not to have to drive so far to get to a real store.

Oh, I am not staying. I just came down to participate in a Civil War re-enactment. Dont worry I will leave everything the same. I know how confused you all were when the VCR came out. I dont want to make it any more confusing for you. Wonder how long you all stayed mad when they put them traffic lights in town. I heard they had to write "Go" on the green light and "Stop" on the red. But see you all figured out it was for the best. It just took a little while. And yes it took tax money to do that also. But I guess if I was on the losing side of the American tax game I would be mad too. But what you do not realize is people in high places make out like a bandit!

The Bible states the 7th day is the sabbath. Man is who says saturday is the 7th day. Research and you will find saturday is named after saturn (the 6th planet from the sun), which is satan's planet. There is a reason our work week starts on monday (the moon) and ends on sunday( the sun). It seems to me the main ones who claim saturday is the sabbath also deny Jesus Christ. John writes in his first epistle that he who denys Christ is a liar. Why would you believe them?

What books are you researching in? This sounds interesting. I just want to have a look myself. People were keeping the Sabbath holy long before Jesus. Its the Christians that distorted this Commandment. But not all of them. The only people who deny Jesus are the ones that do not honor this Commandment.

It was the Jews who observed Saturday as the sabbath, along with prosyletes. Christians attend church on the first day of the week because it was the first day of the week that a resurrected Jesus appeared to his followers. Romans 14:5 "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind." Galatians 2:21 "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." There are many other commandments besides the well known ten. Is the sabbath the easiest one for you to keep; therefore you try to condemn those who know more bible?

Check this guy out! Now we have more than 10 Commandments. You self proclaimed Christians are a riot. It is a known fact that Christians did not start Worshiping on Sunday until about 300 years after Jesus's death. And even to this day not all Christians do. The Seventh-Day Adventists for example. Its funny that all other religions recognize the Sabbath for being Saturday. And only a portion of Christians do not. Then think they can change the meaning of Gods words, with words words of men. God wrote the Commandments in the Bible. Jesus Said if you love him keep them holy. The Jews were around long before Christians. As was the Sabbath. What funny to me is there are even Christian Churches that do not agree wit you. And every other religion. You would maybe have a case if you can turn every quote man has said into a Commandment God has written in stone. Nice try though. You people sure are going for desperate measures now. There are actually over 600 commandments,rules,laws etc..in the old testament.Check out the book of Leviticus.Its clear there is a spirit of conflict at work within you. Another feeble attempt to make breaking a Commandment the right thing to do. Your opinion of what this "mans" verse holds no weight over Gods Commandment. You have that backwards. One of the biggest and most respected supporters of Jesus is the Seventh-Day Adventist Christian church. They take the Commandments and all of Jesus's words very seriously. And to show their love and respect they honor the words of God and Jesus. Yes they know Saturday is the Sabbath and even choose to worship on the same day. The ones that deny Jesus are these self proclaimed Christians who have no respect for Gods Commandments or the fact that Jesus himself said if you love him keep them holy. Read all the sad attempts people make on here to explain why what God and Jesus says in the Bible, does not matter. God and Jesus up against a meaningless verse in Romans 14? Really? When Christ died on the cross, it was God's grace that became our salvation. If you read Paul's writings in Galatians amongst many of the other versus quoted here, you will soon learn that things changed with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

You need to read and understand the passage in Romans. It basically says that you will be held accountable for the beliefs that you profess. So, if you profess to believe that Saturday is the Holy Sabbath and do not keep it then you are breaking God's law. And if you profess to believe that God should be praised everyday and you do not then you are also breaking God's law.

This is the last I will write on this subject as you obviously have no will to understand the truth as it is written in God's word.

He will be trying his best to hitch a boat ride to Kenya before someone demands a birth certificate and puts him in the EVEN bigger house. Mrs.(I was born in Kenya and funded by terrorist Muslims) obama may look even less sophisticated through that glass on visiting day.

You run along now and send your monthly check to Jimmy Swaggert and Jim Baker. Too bad Jim Jones drank the kool-aid. Just divide his part among the other two Christian leaders. Send some to the state of Florida also. They own the tax free land on which The Teen Challenge Correctional Facility resides. Mega-bucks....Look into that Non-Profit Christian Organization. What a laugh?

No kidding. Read all these blogs. Everyone is hiding behind that same banner. They will just come out on Saturday to desecrate the Sabbath. And look out on Sunday for the rest of the misled. Christianity has become nothing but an illusion. Main objective, to deceive and profit. And like Lucifer, it is doing an excellent job at it. They believe their lives are a free for all, because of Jesus. Then when this "Christian Business" uses the same free ride theory they do, they do not like it.
