Johnson probe leads to former drug house

Over the past 26 years, dozens of investigators have made runs at solving the apparently unsolvable murder of Donna Ogletree Johnson.

Donna’s tortuous demise began sometime on July 15, 1984. She was savagely beaten, sexually violated with a metal rod, run over with a vehicle while still alive and finally dispatched with three blows to the head.

YEAH BUT I HAVE TO ASK A QUESTION? WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU TAKE THE WORD OF A BUNCH OF OLD, WORN OUT, PRESENT OR FORMER JUNKIES? THESE PEOPLE GIVING THIS INFO WERE REGULAR CUSTOMERS TO A TOYS-R-US FOR JUNKIES...WHY WOULD THEIR INFO EVEN BE CREDIBLE AT THIS POINT? THERE WAS PROBABLY A BAG OF COCAINE OR CRACK AND A BAG OF POT AND TO A GEEK MONSTER IT PROBABLY LOOKED LIKE A BALE OR A BARRELL WHILE THEY WERE LYING ON THE FLOOR DROOLING ON THEIRSELVES. I JUST DONT SEE HOW YOU CAN TAKE THIS CRAP SERIOUSLY. I PRAY THEY FIND THE PERSON OR PERSONS RESPONSIBLE BUT USE CREDIBLE WITNESSES. NOT CRACKHEADS. THIS STORY HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A VERY LONG TIME SO EVERYBODY HAS BITS AND PIECES OF DETAILS THEY CAN GIVE. ITS SAD TRULY IT IS. BUT THERE IS BETTER INFO THAN SPECULATION AND THE CRACK TALKING.

You know, Anonymous #2, you're making the assumption that once a user, forever and always a user. That's not always the case, I'm thinking.
Possibly there were recreational users there as well.
Perhaps at the age of 21, a person drank beer until he fell down, and did so every weekend. This doesn't mean that at the age of 47 he still drinks beer until he falls down. Maturity in many cases will end the excesses of youth.
I think any and all leads must be treated equally in this case. If investigators dismiss a tip because the person who provided it doesn't lead a lifestyle that's acceptable to YOU, this case may never be resolved.

When people get older priorities often change. They find salvation in Jesus, they have children of their own and visualize it could have been their own child, just as the junkies of today will inform the authorities of tomorrow of things that were never solved. A normal person did not take Donna's life in such a brutal way. If it is related to This Old Crack House, that is exactly who they should be talking to. They should be checking out every lead they get, they know if they are redundant. People should continue calling the numbers if they have information. Somebody out there knows, they may be still afraid of somebody, but they know. Don't be so judgmental, all the people who took drugs in the seventies and eighties are not sorry people today. If you read the printed copy of The Herald Gazette, it clearly states that backing from the Pike County Sheriff of that day is the reason it was left open and successful for so long. The law officers that back this kind of operation are much sorrier than the ones taking the drugs. The takers are addicts the officials are tax paid thieves.

God Bless You! Your wrong about that. Their still alive now and probably doing just fine. The law uses people to set others up. They are commonly called Narks. Some end up working for the so called law. I would bet you would find several who can't pass a drug test in office and on the streets right now in so called law enforcement or working in a public office.

WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT NOW YEARS AND YEARS LATER HOW CAN A "FORMER" JUNKIE REMEMBER SUCH VIVID DETAILS FROM THAT TIME? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. LOGICALLY THEY CANT. I THINK ITS BEING IN THE LIMELIGHT OR MAYBE BEING PISSED AT A DEALER THAT HAS BROUGHT THIS OUT. I DONT THINK ITS WANTING TO HELP. Some things are burned into your memory that no matter how high you were you are not likely to forget what you saw. If a person who lived that lifestyle in the 70-80s and now is a good citizen i would believe them. You didnt see bales of pot and duffel bags of meth everyday and when you did it would stick with you. People who dealt on this scale would probably not hesitate to deal with someone who might threaten their lifestyle. What i wanna know is if is true why people arent wanting some investigation of the law enforcement from that era. Everybody who was around back then knew who the black deputy who had a white girlfriend was. Nuff said.

I dont care how high a person was, if they were, you could neva eva forget assualtin a woman with a metal object, bashing her head, taking her eyes out and so one. And you know most people stoned or drunk can not perform sexual acts. The day is coming when this person or persons have their judgement day and i can assure you it will be so much more a judgement when they stand before an almighty God. They may neva get judgement on this earth but believe you me its a coming. Vengance is MINE sayeth The Lord.......... Nuff Said......

This gruesome murder story has been beat to death week after week, comment after comment. However, a big piece of the story is always omitted and that is the moral character of Ms. Johnson and the crowd of people she associated with, particularly the type of men she was drawn to leaves a hole in this story. Roofers who "worn their roofing hatchets with pride" a quote from one poster. These were the bad boys who did drugs, worn bandannas and lived outside of society's rules. No education or morals. Took no crap from a "broad" and just as soon slap her down as look at her. They lived from day to day and partied hard down at their "mansion". There are probably plenty of suspects in that cesspool. To say Ms. Donna was just a sweet person who had a problem with the type of men she was attracted to is leaving a lot out of the story. If you lay with dogs, you are going to get fleas. Nobody deserves to die as she did but killing is a badge of honor with these types of men. Its an old story, she got in with the wrong crowd and paid a terrible price.

Don't blame the victim for being mutilated, gagged, beaten and sexually assaulted.

you must not have read all the stories and posts that you claim have been beaten to death... the only connection that has been made with Donna and the "wrong crowd" has been the relationship between her and the person that has forgoten that he reported her missing.

"Dorthy", sounds to me like you're making some pretty serious implications in an attempt to
denigrate Donna Johnson's character.

NO WHERE in any of these stories was it ever mentioned that Donna was involved with any men other than her husband and possibly a brief, emotional affair with a man from her work.

We get what you're trying to say and without further, concrete evidence to the contrary, I'm not buying it and neither should anyone else.

How very big of you to make such nasty implications against a dead woman who can't defend herself. Sounds to me like a very weak attempt to shift suspicion off of one person and onto another shady character, albeit an unnamed one.

P.S. "Dorthy", didn't you leave an 'O' out of your name? Just sayin'...

YOU are sick! Everyone who knew Donna said he never did drugs or even drank. Your remark about fleas just shows what a heartless person you are. You need to carry your ass back to Kansas and maybe learn to spell your own name. I agree with Elcie that it looks like you are trying to shift the blame off a guilty person. Just where do you get she was drawn to roofers? The only place that could have come from is your own weak mind.
