Thank goodness Sheriff Thomas didn't waste any county resources or money on foolish ideas like calling for a chopper. Thanks to our sheriff's department for being real professionals.

I am not a resident of Pike, but do keep up with the local news, as I some day, would liket o build in Pike. WHY all the negative comments? Do you realize how BAD you make your OWN county SOUND? GROW UP! Keep your comments to yourself! I've always thought of Pike County as a wonderful place to work, shop & live ~ until I started reading some of the STUPID comments you leave!

I have to admit Pike is a wonderful place to live. Shopping is very limited, Freshway meats are great. Work, most people don't, they are at the schools in the car lines most of the day.

Pike county is an excellent county with a great sheriff and police department. They have a great football team. As far as schools go the are rated as being great in the public school system. They keep Zebulon clean and maintain their roads.
Now the bad. They need to fast forward their clock to 2010. I mean come on. These folks are against everything from a-w (animal control to having a walmart built here). Your reading what these people write. You sure you want to live here?

I bought a house in the city limits of Zebulon and please answer me this. We are in the community of Wrightsburg Subdivision and our Water Bills run all of us Homeowners a $100.00 or more. Plus the Taxes are through the roof. We moved here from Henry 4 yrs ago hopeing there will be devolpment but not here. I mean Cmon a Waffle House would be a nice change. We dont need a Wal-Mart here I agree but need more than the little resources we have.

your right but thats how it works, police officers, doctors, thieving employees, they all get a ticket to the next crime scene. employers do this in fear of being sued themselves buy the criminal themselves. some stores wont even prosecute shop lifters for the same reason.

Never let your kids play under the water tower in molena? I thought the chief of police patroled that area quit a bit! he keeps all the thugs run off from the streets of molena.Hey I got an Idea park the patrol car there with the sun visor pulled down and that will solve all the crime in molena!

There are phone records. Were the judges too busy with counsel and the public defender to sign some warrants and get some phone records????

No not two guys. Two married employees, not to each other. Example would be the judge and his lover. Caused a mess, divorce and one left employment. Thank goodness a transplant was made on the insurance program prior to the divorce.

these clowns dont see it that way. they dont want any businesses here that have any real revenue to better the community. then when the only way to keep the county running is to raise homeowner taxes they have a fit. duh! then when they do have businesses like Hammer Head Lumber, the city would rather go to Home Depot and support outside businesses in other countys instead of spending their money here.

This town is for the upper class white folks who have runways in their front yard. If you bring in businesses like Walmart, you are also briniging in the low income workers they require and basically bringing them into town to live.
Everything is priced high here because the town does not have tax revenue from big companies. Even the schools charge kids double that of surrounding schools. Double for ice cream, they charge for agendas and send fundraiser things home weekly.

This town loves the white man with money, planes and private run ways.

Hell, what do you expect. Around here you can be a postmaster and beat your employees and still have a job. No one wants to hear this stuff and no one will be proactive in stopping it. The law is here for seizing drug money.

Look around at the other places that have development... they've all gone to *&^% or are heading in that direction. The lack thereof is the reason many love Pike. We have chinese, mexican, wings, pizza, seafood & steak and a couple of breakfast joints to choose from. If thats not enough variety then I don't know what is.

yeah your right, look at peachtree city, all that development made that town @!&*# awesome. i guess you enjoy your closet full of clothes from family dollar. and with matching shoes from dollar general you will be all set for your next wedding. and dont worry if you need to buy a car, the united bank repo lot is open one day a week. sure you will find something real swell there. and if you need a can of paint head to pike depot for a $22 can of ceiling paint you can get at walmart for $7. and when you feel like a romantic dinner im sure the oink joint will do you fine. unless ten people got there before you, then you will have to eat in your truck cause ther is no wher to sit. and a hospital, no big deal, as long as your loved one can make the 15 minute trip you will be all right.

forget development then. all these empty duplexes in the city of zebulon can just sit empty being we only want high class folks now. they were built decades ago, was there no small town mentality then. come on with all that talk and buy them so you can knock em down a build a nice house there. if not get some jobs here with an income that can afford to move in. its a shame to see them all empty and for rent.

I know a law enforcement officer that has worked Pike for many years. He told me he wishes someone would buy all them duplex's up, knock em down and build houses. He said the people in them cause more disturbances and call outs then any other type housing in the neighborhood. It figures you own them. Maybe being a slum lord is what makes you think you are so superior to others. Thanks for supporting these folks in Zebulon.

Get out of your cave and take a ride down Franklin Street in Zebulon. I am going to Amaze you again with all the empty duplexes you will find. Maybe you can tell some of the people on your "waiting list". The rent is probably higher than yours but tell them when one off yours opens up you will call them and get them into some budget housing. Oh yeah, i forgot.....Idiot!
