The Pike County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. in the board room to discuss the proposed SPLOST with mayors or officials from Pike's five municipalities.

either these refugees are extremely expensive or we have a bunch of empire builders in the BOC and Sheriffs departments.
there is this other little thing called cutting spending.
a splost is just another way for the county commission to get their hands on more money to waste on things pike county has never needed nor does it need now.
for instance, why should pike county pay for a natural gas pipeline when the only people who will profit from it are the gas company and the one (1) business that "demands it"?
it is one thing to freely express yourself. but to come here an imply that the people of pike county can't think for themselves is another.
