The Pike County commission provided for county operating funds for the rest of the year and authorized an approach to local banks for pre-project monies if the SPLOST is approved for courthouse repairs and improvements. The action took place at a called meeting July 21.

Or somone or some? HMM knew or know the current fire chief and are super jealous and just are cowards. But I am not saying I am friends with him I do understand that he has a lot of work to do and whoever might be the Fire Chief has a lot to do that others just dont realize.
Plus all the grants have saved the county a ton of money. And why would not the Fire Chief try to get all he could for the Fire Department as far as equipment and funds etc. I think there needs to be more then one Fire Chief also. It would be nice to have at least one full time firefighter at each station at all times to at least be able to get the proper equipment as quick as possible to your 911 emergency whether it be fire or ems related or whatever else it might be.
So many are clueless but they never have a better answer for all of their complaints about the Fire Chief.
So there lies another question do you think the fire chief should be a elected county position?
The brain trusts of the BOC and Ex-CM did Tyree wrong and placed an inexperienced person in that position, just wonder how long it or if the fire service will need additional money?
So you posted this
#2.2.2.1 firefighter on 07/28/10 at 12:08 PM [Reply]
Your post is just BS in my opinion. If you want to be paid for firefighting, go to a paid department. Firefighting is no more dangerous or harder than policing.
Did you really think before you posted the above. LOL
Well DUH!!!!!!!!!!! The police are getting paid in Pike County. DUH so you just blew all your credibility of posting your post all up. GEESH DUH
Why couldn't he keep his job at Clayton? He got demoted and in the mist of his downfall he quit. Any monkey can apply for grants. Let’s not forget that grant money is tax dollars and just because you can get grant money doesn't mean you need it. I don't see Sheriff Thomas applying for tanks, helicopters and APC's.
Common sense folks, that is what we demand from leaders and not butt kissers.
What I find extremely interesting is that when commenting about the paid volunteer chief the immediate family and polecat folks (3) of them come hollering. Ignorance is bliss. We all know Henderson has an agenda and has been pushing the theory of Pike County needing a paid full service. Maybe, one day many moons down the road, the growth and economy will support such a need.
I and many others are not jealous nor want the position. We want a real leader and not a flunky in a suit whom has the ability to blow smoke up clueless supporter’s butts.
Read up a post or two and answer the real question
I could see ClayCo hiring him in the sanitation department but I bet he is not certified there either.
The Cave People did notice. Caves do not burn. They are of Class A material with a flame spread of 0-25.
Dump the Chief or dump the $18,000.
We are out of money people.
As for the fire chief, which one is he exactly the one who lives on Patton or Skyview? The one on Patton, if he's getting paid, needs to dress more professionally, quit using his car to get groceries and quit attending estate sales, even if they are less than a mile from their residence, he's not paid to "yard sale" is he? Unless of course, the house is on fire or it's a "fire" sale! And why is it that he showed up to a fire near my house two weeks ago, long after the volunteers and trucks were already there? Was he eating dinner or purchasing it at McDonald's when he got the call?
Nobody is jealous of El Chiefo, or of Henderson's life, trust me.
I know the definition of VOLUNTEER. Do you? It's not supposed to be a paid position. It's not supposed to be coming out of Pike's budget.
