The Pirates lost in the third round of the playoffs at home despite a late-game effort against No. 1 ranked Cook County.

Congratulations Pike County Baseball I know it hurts now but you took the #1 team in the state to its limits and What a GREAT SEASON!!

Thanks to all the ball players and coaches for a fun and exciting season! I enjoyed every minute of every game. I also want to thank you for letting me be part of the excitement and getting to see every pitch and at bat from the best seat in the house at all the home games! Good luck next year! Play ball !!!

Leave it to the PJR for the most negative headlines possible. What's wrong with something like "Pirates Finish a Great Season".

Whats the difference between what you said and the paper said?

I like the others posters response go start a paper or internet site by yourself or if you dont like the PJR then dont read it that is pretty simple I think.

It was heartbreaking to see the kids after they lost. You could really tell they left it all on the field. After the adversity of last year going into this year, I personally think the program has turned the corner and is headed for a bright future. I commend Coach Hanson and his staff for the positive change this year.

As a parent of a ball player I admit it was very heartbreaking to see those boys leave that field. Don't think I have ever see so many tears over a loss of a ballgame and a loss of seniors that won't be back next year. Those boys and coaches work very hard all season to get where they went this year. And the did a great job doing it! Way to go Boys and Coaches you make us proud!! Coach Hanson and staff we all need to commend ya'll for all of the positive things that came to the team this year. Pirate Baseball Rocks!!
