Read the following and decide if it is good law or bad law: "For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person. The person's immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c)."

In the sign above, the man is not pulling the lady or the child. He appears to be running from them. Maybe its his girl friend and he trying to get across the border to avoid child support.

Bump..Bump.. Never mind.Too Late. It is not my fault, I cannot interpret Spanish pictures. I speak English. But one thing for sure, when a country puts up signs for "Illegals Crossing"
There is something wrong with that picture. They will soon have bank robbers running on signs in Georgia to alert drivers to Speed Up and get the money.

There is nothing more fascist than saying to someone "show me your papers". It is the Nazi catch phrase. You cannot watch a WWII movie without hearing that.
Luckily, the Constitution has a clause that has forbidden this type of infringement on personal rights.

There is nothing more repugnant than a government so consumed with keeping their power that they are willing to destroy the country for a few votes from illegal aliens made legal.

Arizona has the right to protect themselves from this invasion and I applaud their efforts.

I know you think King Hussein and the democrats are going to solve all of your problems but I assure you they are going to make life for you much worse than you've ever imagined.

The bill for all of this foolishness will come due and it won't be paid by those "evil rich" you liberals are so fond of but by the taxpaying citizen and by cuts in public assistance.

Why the county want hire within the county and give them the respect and pay them the same ? We have lots of people that could fill the job !! No they want to hire out of the county. want him to relocate as quickly as possible to Pike County during the first year of employment. you have got to be kidding. they are ruining america. i was in augusta for 20 years. the jobs that their fathers and fathers were handed down to americans. the illegals slid in and under bid where no one makes a living. friends lost jobs, vehicles, homes and spouses under pressure. if they are here illegal, they should be arrested . breaking the law is breaking the law. i wish other states would follow arizona and do something. The 4th amendment has to do with illegal search and seizure. I don't think it would apply in this case regardless. The Arizona law does not change search and seizure law but requires citizens to show proof of citizenship. If you can point out the passage in the law that infringes on the 4th amendment, I would like to see it.

Jesus died for my sins..I dont feel I have the right to hold someone elses agains them. I do have compassion and if that makes me liberal then so be it.
I refuse to call another human being an alien. We are brothers in Christ..that bond is stronger than the imaginary national borders in which we place ourselves. I read the news, I know whats going on in Mexico. If I lived there with my children, I will do what is necessary to take care of them.
And if I have to give up 50 dollars from my paycheck (that I still receive by the grace of God Almighty) so that a child can receive food stamps in order to eat, then again, so be it.
May God have more mercy on you than what you show to others.

Simple..the police may question you and request papers without you breaking the law. You can be sitting on a park bench feeding birds and they now have the right to question what you are doing there. That is not what the law says at all.

The Arizona law basically grants the same rights already possessed by the federal government as concerns illegal immigration to the state of Arizona for enforcement within their borders.

The law clearly states that for any "lawful contact". That means if they are arrested, stopped for traffic violation or any other lawful contact (generally means they were being questioned about something else already) if the officer determines there is reasonable suspicion that the person is an illegal, they can ask for documentation of citizenship. Documentation includes: Valid Driver's License, green card, birth certificate and a few others.

"For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person. The person's immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c)."

There is nothing in this law that isn't already federal law. The only difference is it now grants the right to enforce the law to the State of Arizona.

It's no different at all. An officer of the law that stops someone for speeding has the same obligation here as in Arizona.

They have to determine if there is anything about that person, or the surroundings of that person, to cause suspicion.

Haven't you ever seen cops on the side of the road tearing a car apart looking for drugs? They do so because of one thing. Not proof. Suspicions.

The only thing left behind here is your good sense.

There are 10 commandments. Illegal immigration is not one of them. And if you want to judge someone for "stealing" then take a look closer to home and see if you have used the Lords name in vain, coveted anything, failed to honor your mother and father..shall I go on?

The bible has been written and re-written to suit the needs and whims of kings and popes too many times to count. The bible may be the written word of God, but it isn't perfect. It can't be, since it was written by one of His most flawed creations - Mankind.

The Bible also says thou shalt not steal.

If you come into a country illegally, take advantage of systems such as welfare and social security that you've never paid into, that's stealing. Going to the doctor and not paying: stealing.

If you want to make this an argument about Christianity and whether or not you are compassionate like Jesus, I can show you just as many examples where the wicked (thieves) were punished.

The bible is not necessarily flawed...it is misinterpreted. It is very contextual.

If you want to stop illegal immigration then be prepared to go out to cali and pick strawberries, lettuce and avacados for 14 hours a day. Was out there last week and saw fields as far as the eye could see filled with immigrant workers (legal or illegal) I don't know.

They are forced to live in what is basically labor camps paid minimally and fed the same.

If illegal immigrants were forced to come into this country as our law requires, they would be better paid and better off.

I'm sure you understand that a lot of "Illegal Immigration" is cover for drug trafficing. The drug runners bring in 30 or 40 illegals with them so that when they are spotted the police can't tell who had the drugs and who doesn't.

If you are for illegal immigration, you really need to research the problems it is causing in terms of just criminal activity in the state of Arizona and Texas. See if you want them living in your back yard.

And would have to do the same once amnesty is granted to the illegal aliens. The problem with amnesty is it encourages more illegal aliens to come here and wait for the next amnesty bill. Look at what's happened since Reagan granted amnesty.

One possible solution is to close the borders. Put current illegal aliens in line with everyone else to become a citizen and give them a temporary (2 year) visa. Once they meet requirements and if they get through the process legally they can become citizens.

If they don't meet the requirements they should be sent home. If they already have a criminal record (not related to their illegal immigrant status) they should be deported immediately.

Are you the same person arguing for illegal aliens above?

If so, how can you be so for an institution that keeps people living 20-25 to a one room shack with no bathrooms?

I am thankful you are paying taxes. I enjoy your fruits of your labor every time I drive down a road, interstate, or fly on an airline or shop in a small business possibly funded by Small Business Administration. Better yet, thanks for paying my son's salary as he fights in Kut, Iraq to protect our countries freedom and liberty. But know this, when you begin to draw on Social Security, you can stand steadfast and look squarely in the mirror and know that you are a thief. Because for fact you will not have paid into the program for what you will receive annually. Therefore as you rob from your own children and grandchildren how about showing them a little more respect instead of the almighty entitlement attitude.

I will never draw anywhere near what I've paid into social security. If I had been allowed to pay into a private retirement account all of the money I've put into social security, I would already be retired (at 47). It's not the tax paying citizens that are killing social security, it's all the "other" programs that social security has come to fund. Had social security been kept as it was originally designed and the money invested in the stock market rather than squandered by "loans" to the government, the average social security retirement age would be 50.

And as far as entitlements, if I've paid into social security as I have since I was 16. I am entitled to the money and it's not stealing.

I tell you what, I will settle with the government right now for what I've paid in plus reasonable interest and you will never have to pay me a dime.

It's amazing how uninformed people are that they would consider social security paid to someone whose paid into it for 51 years (when I'm eligible for retirement) to social security paid to folks who have never paid into it the same.

Maybe, if you didn't spend so much time hating me for my success, you would have time to be successful yourself.

And just FYI, I do have enough to retire on when I'm old enough to retire and I will draw the social security that I have EARNED.

The United States of America started going downhill when the military draft was eliminated somewhere around 1969. People started losing respect for the country when they were no longer required to defend it. Many people do not even see illegal immigrants as a problem. People should not be considered as presidential candidates if they have not served in the military. That would have eliminated SCUM like Clinton and obama. Mark my words, in the end obama will not have a birth certificate from the United States. If so, it would have been produced by now.

BEDEMIR: Quiet, quiet. Quiet! There
Are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
CROWD: Are there? What are they?
BEDEMIR: Tell me, what do you do with
witches?
VILLAGER #2: Burn!
CROWD: Burn, burn them up!
BEDEMIR: And what do you burn apart from
witches?
VILLAGER #1: More witches!
VILLAGER #2: Wood!
BEDEMIR: So, why do witches burn?
VILLAGER #3: B--... 'cause they're made
