Tax Day Protest set for courthouse square

Concerned citizens will gather for a local Tea Party Patriot's tax day protest on April 15 from 6-9 p.m. on the courthouse square. Speakers will include state Rep. Billy Maddox and other local leaders. Organizer and stay-at-home mom T.C. Meuninck encourages people to bring clean, creative protest signs on fiscal responsibility and lawn chairs and umbrellas as needed.

People all over the country can do this, and it's very good idea. But, it won't change anything. I doubt if even voting ALL of gov't out at next election will do any good, the next set might be just as bad.
I'll try my best to be at the courthouse, though.

Won't change anything? Anonymous #2 maybe you should be prepared to force a change if our votes don't work. Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, and many more were willing to put there lives, their financial security, and their families in a life's struggle to participate in what we know as freedom. Read up on Jefferson and lets all have a little passion about what we believe in; pacifists need not attend.

Obama, speaking Thursday night at a Democratic fundraiser in Miami, told supporters he is amused by the protesters' complaints about taxes because, contrary to their claims, he's cut taxes. "You would think they'd be saying thank you," the president said.

How many protests will it actually take to get these sorry people out of office? It's like they are being communists because they are doing what THEY want, and NOT what WE THE PEOPLE want.
Can't any of them be impeached, thrown out, etc for not doing what THE PEOPLE want??

All waves eventually become mere ripples in the big old ocean. True, some cause tsunami's as Hussein (Watch me steal your money) obama and Bill(I love blue dresses) Clinton. Eventually, their big (I got'cha smiles) will be on the top row on the Wall of Shame in The White House. While your poor grandchildren wait patiently to see which clinic calls to give them their long awaited appointment. Maybe they will be still alive. Toodles...

If you would take off your blinders, your eyes would be open. Yes, some people have already declare him king, but I want to see it come from the depths of people like you. If only you would look past his skin you would see the wonders of his elected service. One day we will have our own rally at the square and hopefully Ms. Tolley will be there and hold hands with us. Look how far in such a short time he has come. Things are looking up after 8 years of Bush. Now let's be friends and unite together for the betterment of all people in Pike.

You are talking to the ABSOLUTE wrong person if you are into skin colors, boy. That has never been important to me. I respect The United States of America for which she STOOD. obama is not the first American-African president. Define 'your own rally' for me. Please. You got a name, J dot M? Rosa Parks had a name, Martin Luther King had a name. One which served a very important and necessary purpose in "that point in History." You my boy, are just a nightmare in the Dream that Martin Luther King died in order to bring. He would not have allowed an ashamed, no-name chicken to walk at the end of his marches.

Personally, my favorite Civil Rights leader is Rosa Parks. She made her stand "spur of the moment" no evil planning, no million woman back-up. You probably never heard of her, she had dignity.

The depths of people like me? Where would that be? oh, I know. Way above the heights of low-life such as yourself. I don't mind holding your hand at all, if you are in need, but I must know that you are gathered for the right reason. Would I be happy if obama was murdered? Hell no. Would I be glad if died of a "guilty conscious because of his personal greedy agenda." Hell yeah. It would really be to his advantage to "pass on" while there is still a shred, albeit only a thread, of a doubt left as to: his terrorist involvement, his citizenship, his intelligence quotient...and the list goes on. You J dot M have never personally known a slave. Except the ones you see of all colors parading up and down the roads with signs reading, "I will work for food." Get in the Reality Check line, dude. And quit causing more hatred in the world that decent people wish would go away. Don't go away mad, J dot M. Just get the hell on down the road. She could easily have gotten confused. I was referring to her statements about wishing there was another Booth. Her history lesson was her recent learning exposure to Lincoln giving her and A in third grade history.
