Highway 109 to be dedicated Wednesday

Donnie Dickens lived in Pike County his whole life. His impact on the community will be recognized Wednesday at 2 p.m. when Highway 109 is dedicated in his memory. The dedication will take place in downtown Molena.

OH boy, can't wait to see the comments on this one. This man and family are not as great as they want everyone to think they are.
If you know them personally, you will know what I mean.
Funny, nothing here is mentioned of Dickens being a police chief for Concord.

Wow I wondered if other people believed this. This family was so well thought of in Pike co for years and years, it surprises me that anyone agrees with this.

Have only lived here 13 years don't know who this is and was wondering why this is a bad thing? I'm assuming that I understand the Michael Jackson comment.

You are right about the MJ comment. For years, he was allowed by the meansville baptist childrens home to take boys 'under his wing' so to speak. They went with him on his jobs.
Also, it's hard for some people to believe this and other things because the family was *supposedly* very upstanding by the whole town.
He was a policeman, police cheif for Concord, a bus driver since he was out of school, lifsey springs fireman and cheif, worked on farms, had hay bailing business.
MOST of this he done all at the same time!!
I dont' know if any officials of Pike Co. knew about this and kept it covered up.

Shame on yall, the Bible says "let him w/o sin cast the first stone". Donnie done more for the community than any "elected official" then or now. I am proud to have known him as a friend, fellow fire fighter and bus driver. Donnie would give you the shirt off his back and the ones out of his closet if he thought you needed it. If you dont give a person flowers when they are alive dont send any when they die and dont kick him either. Some people can make something out of the story about a young girl living with 7 midgets, and who was "sweet pea's" daddy?

You are right, Donnie as we knew him did do far more than his share for this county. He gave more time and effort than most in those days. I for one remember being a school aged child at the time when Donnie was "at his best" and held all of the positions mentioned. As a young girl I was under the impression that he was an upstanding citizen... but then I started hearing from the young boys in the county and the story took a turn for the worse. I for one pray that he was just a victim of gossip, but in my heart...

Why do you have a comment on everything? Are you the county WIZARD: one who knows everything about everything? Do you live and breathe to trash other people? It appears you do. I do know that people who are miserable love misery. If it doesn't exist, they will create it. It is time to stop! I pray you will understand that you hurt so many people with your comments. I don't understand, I just don't understand. I wish the community would band together and have the Reporter stop this! It does more harm than good.

I have not lived a perfect life. I have sinned and will continue to sin. However, I have never molested a child. Oh, I forgot... Its all the same in God's eyes.... sorry for casting those stones...
