Spalding County authorities have identified the man who shot former Lamar County sheriff Joe Buice Friday afternoon as 38-year-old Michael Stringer.

whats this have to do with pike countty?

You will find that folks who have roots in Pike County are connected to surrounding Spalding, Lamar and Upson folks, too. I am very interested in this as it relates to the Buice family. I have family that work for the Spalding SO; and they live in Pike County. It's a relevant article and I'm glad they continue to report on it.

What does it have to do with Pike? Gee, I dunno. Maybe us "cave peoples" like to read news about other places, too?

Actually, one of the deputies involved is a life-long Pike resident and a wonderful person. I'm glad all involved will be ok.
