Marro out of the running in Florida

According to the Orlando Sentinel, council members in DeBary, Florida have selected former Ardmore, Oklahoma manager Dan Parrott to run the city. Pike county manager Steve Marro was the other finalist.

A third finalist withdrew his name from consideration. Parrott reportedly handled 288 employees and a $57 million budget in Oklahoma. He starts Feb. 8.

There were 85 people who applied for the job.

I guess that the people on the pollcat got their wish. They posted the county website and phone numbers requesting PC citizens call and give their opinions. So sad.

Imagine that. It is going to be a long trip back to Pike from the ocean breeze. Marro should remember all those he stomped a mudhole in while trying to climb a ladder of success. Some mudholes just do not forget.

Marro should try for a job in ClayCo, ButtsCo, Dawnsville or Murphyville. Why didn't they hire him in Waycross?

How could anyboby in Pike support the guy. Watched him live during the interview, he slam dunked the BOC, the county attorney, State of Georgia and Dorothy Ethridge. No call for his actions and it only shows us what a true outsider and Carpetbagger he really is. DeBary Council saw through him and he did it to himself.

All Pike Citizens should see for yourself the actions of County Manager Steve Marro. Marro dumped on our county attorney, the BOC, Don Collins and Chairman Mangham. He accused them all of breaking the law. Don't take anyone's word, see and witness it yourself. See the kind of person we have been paying big bucks to screw us all.

Marro let all of the council members in Florida know he was imprisoned here in Pike with a bunch of Cave Peoples. Now I feel like the guy on TV, so easy a Caveman could do it.

It is quite simple and you will be surprised.
It is kinda short because these professional council members saw right through his BS, something Swift, Willis, Powers and Chairman Mangham have not.
The funny part is when Marro slams our county attorney and Don Collins.

I found his statement during the interview that "I never made the transition to RURAL Georgia" very telling. You can find that at 1:17:05 or thereabouts. Not much later you'll find this little jewel:

"Up there I was chief cook and bottle washer. Human resource director, finance director, planning director, county manager, and sometimes had also been put in charge of emergency management. Well, that was only because I fired a volunteer fire chief..."

I am not from the Pollcat, and have never been on that website. My opinions and my actions are my own.

I have, however, shared information that will allow another city to make an informed decision.

Nothing inflammatory was shared by me, just the facts, Jack.

Mr. Marro has shown by his final interview with them that he is done with Pike County. And after listening to that interview for myself, I hope Pike County is done with him.

Mr. Rawlins the county needs our $30,000 in cash Marro found in a brown papersack @ Building and Zoning. The money is not Marro's to keep, it should be turned over to the BOC and deposited in the county coffers. Not a Marro bonus.

Marro doing research on benefits after his contract was not renewed. All information comes under a GAG order which Marro knows well.
Marro wants his benefits to start June 1. From there he has applied for social security but is being held up since he has not quite reached 62. The county attorney is assisting Marro to get his money. The BOC has ask the county budget director (who went to school for this) to deny all unemployment benefits since Marro slamed PikeCo his employer. Mr. Townsend could not be reached for comment. Only Jr. Commissioner Donald Collins voiced favor in Marro drawing benefits from unemployment. Mr. Marro knows most of the employees @ the Griffin office since he was not successful in keeping some county employees from receiving their benefits.
