UPDATE: Pike County and its municipalities has been upgraded to a Flash Flood Warning.
Pike County and its municipalities remain under a flood watch through Friday evening.
From the National Weather Service:
* SOILS REMAIN VERY SATURATED ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
REDEVELOP ACROSS GEORGIA TODAY AND CONTINUE INTO THURSDAY. AN
ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WATCH
AREA. RAINFALL SHOULD BEGIN TO TAPER OFF BY FRIDAY EVENING.
* FLOODING CONTINUES ALONG MANY CREEKS AND RIVERS ACROSS
GEORGIA. THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL LIKELY PROLONG FLOODING
IN MANY OF THESE AREAS... AND LIKELY CAUSE NEW FLOODING.
ALSO...TEMPORARY URBAN AND STREET FLOODING COULD OCCUR DUE TO
POOR DRAINAGE AND CLOGGED STORM DRAINS WHERE ANY HEAVY RAIN
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
