Reopening of auditorium set for May 17

The grand re-opening of the Pike County Auditorium will be held May 17 at 6 p.m. with performances by local students. The auditorium was closed December 2011 due to foundational issues, a leaking roof and general disrepair. The passage of the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax provided the funds to fully renovate the building. [Full story »]

In a single vehicle wreck on Prayer Mountain around 8:30 p.m. April 29, a car flipped onto its roof and three people were injured but no one was killed.
